We got new bay-like windows and double doors last Summer. I love their work and it comes with lifetime warranty. They were efficient, professional and left the house clean after installation. Would hire them again in the future for other windows and doors in the house.

Very happy with this company so far. I met with Will and he was very thorough in explaining the whole window replacement process to me. He was very personable and answered all of my questions. I am getting 10 windows replaced and look forward to getting the job done.

I would like to acknowledge Ray Wallace for coming out to my property and inspecting my windows. He was extremely detailed and provided information in a passionate manner. At the end of the visit I let Ray know that I could not make a decision just yet but will be in touch if services were needed. He didn't force anything upon me given the unique situation I'm in.

I received a quote on Monday. An appointment that was supposed to take ninety minutes took approximately three hours, from arriving to leaving. I had a meeting I had to run off to, and then there was a bit of back and forth with regards to obtaining the discounted price of signing on the spot, and I had to walk away so I could attend my scheduled meeting that I mentioned multiple times to him.

As advertised. Went above what most window companies would do, they added a piece of window trim I asked for the day of, and did everything they said they would. Nice quality, clean work. Team was fast and efficient without sacrificing on craftsmanship. Very happy.

I personally did not have a good experience with The Men With Tools.

I’ll start with the sales experience. The sales person showed up and was insistent that we reschedule for a time my boyfriend was home. I found this incredibly rude and misogynistic. Only after I told him multiple times that I was making this purchase and my boyfriend wasn’t interested in his sales pitch the salesperson then agreed to proceed. His sales pitch took 2 hours in the middle of my work day. I think they would benefit from finding a way to streamline their sales pitch to under an hour. However, I chose to proceed with this company because I believed in the quality of their product.

The salesperson also agreed to “throw in” a pet screen if I signed the contract that day. I called him within an hour of him leaving and told him I wanted to proceed. When I mentioned to him the pet screen wasn’t written into the contract despite his representation he responded with a sob story that the pet screen would come out of his commission and he begged me to pay for it instead and admitted that him offering to throw it in had been a mistake. I obliged to avoid the awkwardness. I believe he was intentionally being manipulative and misleading.

I decided to proceed with the installation of a single patio door. I paid $8,030.80.

The workers who came to my home were nice people and I had no issue with them. They did a good job with the installation. However after they left within less than 30 minutes I noticed there were minor scratches on the glass. I immediately called The Men With Tools and they told me I’d have to make an appointment with their service department. I was forwarded to a voicemail and left a message. I did not receive a call back.

4 days after installation I noticed the caulking surrounding the door was already cracking in multiple places. I again reached out for a resolution. They did call me back this time.

They then sent someone back out (2.5 weeks after the original installation). They agreed to order and install new glass due to the scratches. They also applied more caulk while they were there evaluating the glass. The person who came told me caulk cracks if you don’t paint it. I’ve never experienced caulk cracking within 4 days of install if you don’t paint it. I also couldn’t find anything on the Internet to substantiate this claim, including numerous Reddit forums dedicated to construction. Within 6 hours of them leaving there were already more cracks in the caulk.

After hearing nothing for 3 months, I called on November 12, 2024 to check the status of my replacement glass and they apologized and told me it had never been ordered. They attempted to blame an employee who was no longer with the company. I find that explanation to be a bit of a cop out. I find it hard to believe that an employee would be allegedly terminated for cause and that employee’s records wouldn’t be reviewed by anyone else at the company.

They sent out another person to evaluate the scratches after I called on November 12, 2024. After this second individual came they called me back and told me the scratches were too small to be covered by their lifetime warranty despite the first person back in August telling me new glass would be ordered. When I asked them where this was stated in my contract they were unable to point me to a specific section that supported their new stance. They told me they would call me back after they spoke with their manager but have not yet called.

I have been honest with them from the beginning that the scratches are very minor but I do not expect any scratches on an $8,000+ brand new door. The woman I originally spoke with in August agreed that there should be no scratches on brand new glass. It’s a shame that sentiment doesn’t seem to be shared across the company.

I am disappointed with my experience and will be using a different company to replace all of the windows in my house.

From my initial meeting to talk product selection and pricing, through measurements, order tracking and then installation the team at Men with Tools was professional and efficient. I couldn't be happier with the final product. Installation went smoothly and they left the space clean and tidy.

Easily one of the worst experiences with a contractor I've ever had experienced in the State of New Jersey. They've probably sent half a dozen "techs", or installers, to my house to deal with a door that they initially did not measure properly. Of course, the installer blames the sales people, the sales people blame the manufacturer, its all finger pointing and blame game and you're left as the consumer with doors that don't work and don't look right. I would really avoid this contractor and also forget provia it's not worth the money. The quality of the door is fine, but not at all worth the premium. If you can get a cheaper Larson go for it. Never again!
