Chama is one of those very small towns with many of the businesses shut down so we were a little leery when finding a place to stay for our train trip. We chose the Vista Del Rio Lodge and are very glad we did. It is a small motel but probably one of the cleanest and most well kept one we have ever stayed in. We stayed in the ADA room which was HUGE as it had a recliner for my husband to sleep in. There is a single cup coffee maker in the rooms (coffee, creamer & sugar provided) along with a small frig. They also provide bottled water. The towels were thick and soft and the beds were very comfortable. Shower was great with plenty of hot water. The only complaint I would have are the pillows are way too hard for my taste. I would suggest requesting a room in the back as you have a really nice view of the expansive back yard complete with two gazebo areas and grills which were so clean they were like brand new. They have lights strung up on the gazebos which we asked to be turned on at night so we could sit at the picnic tables to play board games. No problem! We did not take advantage of the continental breakfast as it is not begun until 8 am and we needed to be at the train yard by 9 and wanted something a bit more substantial. Very friendly and accommodating hosts.

Clean, comfortable and quiet. Bedding is cozy and comfortable and clean. Bath is immaculate and furnishings are entirely adequate, if not fancy. Good food. The staff are friendly and accommodating. Definitely recommend the lodge and think it’s a good value. It’s a pretty setting along the Chama River and it features a backyard series of rooms where deer often graze. Family run.

Fantastic place to relax in Chama NM. Quiet and beautiful location, clean rooms, lovely people and service. I'd stay here again. We were here over the weekend for the hot air balloons during the Snowball Fest.

What a cute place for a quick stay. Amy was kind, courteous, and so accommodating. We had a 3pm wedding down the road and needed a little time to check in early and get ready. Amy actually went out of the way to call me the day of and let me know we could check in. Room was quaint, comfy, and appointed with everything you should need. For the price, worth every penny. We recently stayed at the Vista Del Rio for a trip outside of Chama. The room was very clean an exactly what we expected. The staff is extremely friendly. We will absolutely stay here again.

Super clean spot with nice rooms, most importantly the manager and her little granddaughter are the BEST. Breakfast is better than expected, the grounds are well maintained and we were so warmly welcomed we will for sure return. |At breakfast the first day I noticed the popcorn machine and said I loved popcorn, the manager offered to make some right then and I said we were taking the train, so she said she'd have it ready when we returned. I thought that would never happen, but sure enough there were popcorn bags for us around 7pm when we finally got home. SO SWEET!!!

A gem! Traveling with a large group and unexpectedly needed a room. They easily accommodated us last minute and the place could not have been lovelier. The towels were fluffy and bright. Sheets were clean, bed was super comfortable. They thought of everything including complimentary water in our room and a fridge. Lots of great coffee selections and breakfast was much better than I anticipated. Fresh fruits, yogurt, cereals, oatmeal’s, pastries and multiple juices. I enjoyed visiting with the front desk. We will be back!

My GF and I stayed here 1 night and she told me how she loved the way the towels smelled & clean and thought the whole place was cute. She wants to come back. The owner lady was VERY NICE and friendly! ...and the C&T train ride to Antonito was nice too.
