The room was exactly as pictured. It is a unique, clean, comfortable place to stay located within walking distance of major sites in Sante Fe. Continental breakfast included omelets, bacon, yogurt and parfait add ins, fresh fruit, and delicious pastries. One the best breakfasts offered. Side street is near busy tourist, art, and restaurants, but is extremely quiet. Only downside was the highly rated, on-site restaurant closed right before our stay, so we weren't able to try it.

We love The Vanessie. It’s such a cool place to stay. Every room is different and sooo very unique. I made reservations a month ago for two nights in our favorite room. They had already charged my account. When we arrived, we found they had given our reserved room to someone else the day before. Huge disappointment. They tried everything to rectify the error. They gave us another room which was very nice and had a large deck/balcony. The room however was a little smaller. It was fine but that was a disappointment. The people that work there areVERY nice and it’s a great stay if you go to Santa Fe.

Beautiful facilities operated by really nice people. Our room was gorgeous, with great southwestern flair. Breakfasts were wonderful, too -- a delicious buffet of hot and cold items, with eggs, pancakes, yogurt with fresh fuit, nice baked goods, etc. Aside from breakfast, the restaurant and piano lounge that formerly operated in this space has not yet reopened -- but they are working on a come-back. Right now, this hotel is a great deal for budget conscious travelers seeking quasi-luxury accommodations.

A great hotel with the friendliest staff! Every person we interacted with was friendly, helpful and kind. Both front desk clerks as well as the buffet breakfast host were very hospitable and helpful. From recommending a restaurant for dinner to giving tips on where to start our walking tour to providing a great breakfast each morning. The room was very comfortable and spacious and clean. We explored the city on foot and everything we wanted to see was within our walking capability. During your stay, definitely make the short drive to Los Alamos and visit Bandelier National Monument.

This hotel near historic downtown Santa Fe (within walking distance of the Plaza), was excellent! Is well maintained, the rooms are comfortable and the staff are friendly and professional! The rooms are as pictured, our room had a wood fireplace in one corner (we didn't use it though). It is off the main thoroughfare so it was quiet, and made for a restful night. Highly recommend, we will be staying there again on our future visits to the area.

Wife and I booked a last-minute "romantic" getaway at this place.||||Do not book - this place operates like a scam and is NOTHING like advertised or the price point would suggest. It is by no stretch a luxury hotel, but is priced like one.||||It is a run-down motel style place without a restaurant ("closed, no details given, not notified") or a lobby. The rooms were FILTHY, dirt and droppings on the floor, sloppy thick paint everywhere. and in desperate need for remodel. Appears to be absentee management, nobody was there when we arrived.||||We ended up staying at a competing chain hotel a block away. The "Vanessie" hotel refused to refund the rest of our stay and the owner was extremely unprofessional in communications.||||Do NOT pay more than $80-100 per night for this place. It is a run-down dump by all assessments, read the few reviews on various sites that appear to be unbiased / non-paid reviews (hint: filter by lowest rating).||||It has an "F" in the BBB rating, do a search.||||We are out nearly $1000 in addition to the cost to stay at the much more normal and comfortable hotel next door.||||STAY AWAY.

We had a reservation for Dec. 24 and 25,2024. When we arrived there was no one to greet us and the "reception" area was a mess. Finally, after waiting about 20 minutes a woman showed up and checked us in. We stayed the night of Dec. 24 and my wife went into the breakfast area to find that the food was burnt. She was told by the manager that "it will probably taste okay". She declined to eat it. That day the key code would not work in our room so we went to get a new code which did not work either. This took several minutes to happen as the place is completely understaffed. The large "reception" room is bordered by several smaller rooms that are full of what appears to be junk. The room was marginal so we decided to check out as this was a very disappointing experience. After some discussion the "manager" agreed to refund our second night for which we had prepaid. After three weeks we inquired about the refund. We contacted the "Front Desk" multiple times and then were finally told that we would not be getting a refund because we had booked via Expedia. This was interesting because we had booked using booking.com. We did a little research and found that the Better Business Bureau gives the Inn at Vanessie an "F" rating because they will not respond to complaints. We travel and stay in hotels about 70 nights a year. We have never stayed in a place as bad as the Inn at Vanessie in Santa Fe.

Stayed here for four nights. The location is perfect for walking anywhere in town. Rooms are very clean and beds are comfortable. Alvin, the manager, was very nice and accommodating and made sure we had everything we needed to make the most of our stay. The hotel is located in a good part of town too. We will definitely be back to stay at this place!
