This place is AMAZING!! A few years ago I was very fortunate to go here with my son who was able to take part in the summer space camp program. He absolutely loved it and I enjoyed touring the facility. Huntsville is a beautiful city and the people were incredibly friendly no matter where I went during my week there while my son was at Space Camp. I cannot recommend this location enough, if you have a child who loves space, computers, the military or just looking for an exciting summer camp, Space Camp at the U.S Space and Rocket center is the place I recommend. My son will never forget his experience at space camp!!

We enjoyed our day here. Lots to see and do for both young and old. We had been postponing our visit until most of the renovations were complete and the space shuttle was back in place. We were there on a Thursday and really surprised how few visitors there were; but since it wasn't crowded, it allowed us to take our time and look at everything without being rushed. It took us around five hours to see everything we wanted to see and to eat lunch. We skipped all the rides and other things that were geared toward kids, but all of them seemed to be open and working. We enjoyed the Saturn V exhibit building the most. The docents in there are retired from the space center and are very interesting to talk with. Lunch in the cafeteria was expensive, but we both remarked that the chicken tenders and fries were the best we had had in a long time, so we didn't mind paying the high price for food that was good and convenient.

We recently spent an afternoon here. It's definitely a very interesting and informative place to be at. There are plenty of things to see and do. From interactive areas, to videos, to hundreds of displays. Whether you're inside, or outside, you really can't go wrong. Our method of touring a place is to simply walk the entire perimeter of any given area. In our experience we've never missed anything. Admission price is extremely reasonable for what you get. Definitely a must do thing if you're in the Huntsville area.

The review I gave was because I went with a friend and she had an EBT card. If you show proof of that from any state the entrance is $3 for up to 4 people. Normal entrance is 25-30 per person and I wouldn’t pay for that at this time because it was very hot and because it’s summer it is FULL of summer camp attendees. Parking is small it took a little to find a spot. It’s definitely a nice place to go the weather made it harder because some things are outside and it was very hot. Food was expensive like 15.00 chicken nugget meal but it didn’t taste bad. But it was a bit expensive. Experiences have to be independently paid such as VR, or simulators, and planetarium. It was nice for the price we paid and to see around the area but I wouldn’t have been happy full price. They have outdoor play area for smaller kids but so hot. They do have interactive areas that made it more fun and longer experience. I would definitely come back when summer is over as I believe a lot of things were not open or available due to the amount of people. I recommend and if you can use the discount definitely utilize it, makes a huge difference!

I’ve been to Kennedy Space center, Johnson Space center and other smaller exhibits and Huntsville is excellent and a worthwhile stop on a trip.

This is one of the NASA triple crown (Kennedy (Florida), Johnson (Houston) and Huntsville all with a Saturn V rocket.

This one is incredibly kid friendly—our 2 year old loved it, kids science and discovery areas, play areas outside (covered) and inside the Saturn V building.

The exhibit is less impressive than Johnson & Kennedy, but makes up for it with the collection of rocket related equipment, missiles and of course multiple rockets plus a full size Shuttle + boosters. The focus on Warner VonBraun was great given his history and importance was excellent, but not lost on the overall big picture of the space program. One area that was unique was the tremendous number of walk in exhibits/interactive items, making it great for all visitors.

The Restaurant is below average, I recommend packing lunch or leaving and returning.

Overall this is an awesome place to go/visit and worthwhile whether you are going with young or older children or just visiting on your own.

The U.S Space and Rocket Center is not only a great place for all ages, but an experience to remember. There are lots of great exhibits that are extremely informative, and many are interactive. Additionally, there are lots of science presentations and shows for all ages throughout the day, from knowledgeable docents that are willing to answer your questions after the show.
Most of the museum is open as of July 2024, but some things are under construction. The U.S Space and Rocket Center is quite accessible for those needing ramps, and there is excellent seating throughout the building(s). Speaking of buildings, the Saturn V hall is more than worth a visit. There are so many amazing hands on exhibits inside the Saturn V hall and great places to get a picture with the rocket outside.
The Mars Cafe is a great place to grab a bite, but it’s only open for a short period of time daily, so be sure to keep a close eye on the clock if you want to make it. Another thing you should keep an eye on the clock for is the planetarium shows. My family and I saw the James Webb show and it was fantastic. Although I find it interesting, I’m not as big a space nerd as my daughter, who loved the show and the host, Sam, who was very informative and threw in a few good jokes. The lines for these shows, however, fill up very quickly, so be prepared to get in the queue at the very least 5 or so minutes in advance.
There are lots of awesome experiences that you can book online before your visit for your children and for your family. My daughter participated in the Teen Maker Hour, and she had a great time.
To conclude my review, I highly recommend the U.S Space and Rocket Center for all ages. It’s a great place to go learn and do activities indoors for a day, and what my daughter had dubbed, “space nerd heaven.” Thank you to all the docents, astronomers and employees working to make the U.S Space and Rocket Center fun, educational, and entertaining.

Hey Ya'll ?! Our Labor Day excursion on Day 2 of our vacation was out of this world fun!! We stopped at the US SPACE and ROCKET CENTER in Huntsville, Alabama! This place is amazing and great for all ages! They have space camp programs here and certain times of the year, they also have astronauts come and speak and sign autographs. There is so much to see and do here. They have simulators and an intuitive planetarium. There are rockets and the shuttle Pathfinder on display as well as other items from NASA. You really need to make this your next bucket list item!!
