We went on Dec 24. The visitor center was closed and we had to self pay through the box upfront. There is a water fountain and restroom at the visitor center. The overlook is very nice and then you get to walk to the trestle view. The tracks are part of a private property but a must go. See my pictures.

Nice park with picnic tables, fire rings and grills. There is a fee if you don't have a national park pass. The bathrooms were clean and have running water in the sinks. I did the loop trail and really enjoyed the views.

It was an intermediate hike for us after all The rain. We made it all The way through The Trestle with lots of stops. The Benches were very useful. They have them
Every 100-200meters. Bring lots of water. The hike is 1hour each way. The directions are very confusing so make sure you grab a map.

I hiked the Old Cloudcroft Highway Trail. Very nice views and some fun history along the way including parts of the historic railway and Bonnie’s Trestle.

Also it had just snowed and not ever seeing much snow it was a nice plus. Made a beautiful place even prettier.

It's a beautiful view. Highly recommend going a couple mile up the road and walk the trail. The devil's elbow is a pretty nice trail. Looking forward to doing the 8 mile trail soon. There is four trails there done them all except the 8 mile one.

This is the trail I love to hike on my days off, really calms me down after all the stress of work, would definitely recommend visiting at the beginning of Autumn, when the leaves just start changing colors, the views are beautiful with all the colorful oranges, golds and reds, one tree in particular halfway to the trestle looks like fire!

Nice little hike. We got there right after it opened and it was probably an hour or more before others showed up. Signs were a little bit confusing at times but definitely won't get lost. Amazing what people could do in that time period by hand. Sorry I may have gotten the photos a little out of order.

We did the hike to the Mexican Trestle (5001) and enjoyed it. It's not too difficult, but get out there early in the day during the summer months. The view down to White Sands from the top of the mountain is breathtaking.
