Don’t even bother trying to buy anything, she refused to sell because my husband came 5 minutes early before opening. He and the other customer were waiting outside. She refused to sell because they came too early. I went half an hour later to buy a bait then she came out, saw my husband and refused to sell to me also. That was very strange, nor me or my husband were rude. She needs serious psychiatric help.

One place in north Jersey that you can get live bait at a very reasonable price. I don’t understand why people give her bad reviews based on her one at a time policy. This business is in Paterson!!! It’s perfectly ok for her to worry about people stealing or even robbing her. People need to show compassion instead of always being so critical about things. If you don’t like it, don’t come here to get your bait, it’s that simple. The owner has always be polite and kind to me every time I visit the store, that’s because I treat her with respect!

Don’t even bother trying to shop here, the staff were very rude when they opened the door and refused to let us in. Also asked what we wanted as if they weren’t selling fishing tackle. Very unprofessional and disappointing

Great tackle shop. Could spend all day inside. Owner was nice gave me a free nj freshwater fishing magazine when I asked for some recommendations on where to fish. Live bait reasonably priced as well as prices for spoiling reels. I can understand that if there are problems with shoplifting that she would have the policies she has. All in all I will be back. Give this shop a try you’ll be hooked.

I was going to take my grandson for a fishing rod and reel. But after reading the reviews and the majority are all negative about the store the owner and staff I’ve decided to spend my money elsewhere. Business must be booming there if they can afford to be hostile towards customers. ..with an attitude like that sounds as if the owner might be better off suited working in the fast food or housekeeping industry. Ur loss

Purchased two Shakespeare rods on June 2, 2024 from the door as she does not allow you to check or even compare equipment. Bought it anyway. As I’m setting up the release button on one the button did not release. Came today to have it replaced and the owner was rude and very unprofessional. Was no help at all and assumed I did something to it without even examining the reel. And told em to send it to manufacturer which is all the way in PA. Will never come back. If I could give 0 stars I would. A business that doesn’t stand by the products they sell is not a professional business. Beware of their products. Horrible customer service and even worse attitude.

They have live bait even through winter-minnows, several types of worms. Great tackle selection, everything you need.

First off, the process of getting bait is a little different but remember, as fishermen and fisherwomen, we’re supposed to be patient. You can tell that there has been some issues with patrons in the past but the owner seemed like a nice lady who’s had some bad times. Either way, the shop has everything you’ll need. I always have to get my shiners the day or two before a trip and was honestly shocked that I didn’t lose a single one to bucket life before my trip. They were even a little too lively! Maybe butterfingers here lost one to the lake but support this shop. There aren’t many left in north Jersey.
