The Clayton, NM Toot n Totem, Valero Travel Stop is worth the stop. Their fuel prices are reasonable and often less than the fuel prices are in Dalhart, TX. There is a grass covered dog park that my pooch greatly appreciates. Inside there is a well stocked convenience store and clean restrooms. The staff is friendly and cheerful. I make frequent runs between Angel Fire, NM and Amarillo, TX and this is one of my regular stops on my journey.

This place was clean. The bathrooms were clean. The floor was clean. It was clean. That may just be because it is newish, but it was one of the cleanest convenience stores or truck stops I've been in. Easy to access fuel while hooked up to the 5th wheel.

One of the nicest and cleanest truck stops we have stayed in.
The parking is huge and has everything truckers need while resting.
The only thing missing is an option for bbq all day. We were there in the evening and they had that section closed :/

I’ve stopped here many times because it is very easy to pull an rv trailer through the gas pumps. Got the BBQ for the first time today. It was very tasty. Make sure to buy the meat by the pound or by the rib; if not you will be over paying for side dishes.
