I am happy to renew my lease this month. My dog Benny and I have lived here 18 months and I have been very pleased with the staff, maintenance crew, grounds and amenities. All kept up well and neatly groomed with maintenance taking care to trim limbs before a storm or giving Benny a treat as they drive by on their golf carts. It really is a very friendly place. Oh, and I've NEVER seen a bug....not one, and that's VERY important to me!

I’m moving to the area for work and since it’s just a 3 hour drive from home I’ve come to birmingham the past 3 weekends in a row looking at different apartment communities and I noticed the property the first time I came when I toured the community across the street and I was headed back to that community to look at the actual unit I would be applying for and thought I should at least tour this place because the price was a little cheaper and the from the photos online it seemed like a nice place. I was completely wrong. Out of the many and I do mean many places I have toured over the past couple of weeks this was the absolute worst experience. I entered the leasing office and no signs of anyone so I just assumed the agent was out touring with someone else but all along the agent was sitting in the office at the desk never got up to greet me. I walked into the office and he had such a dry persona and I thought it was a joke for a second because I’m thinking there is no way you can do this type of work with this type of nonchalant attitude. I knew then that this wouldn’t be the place for me. In all the time I was there he sat at the desk not once offered for me to take a seat. I was never told what the community has to offer nothing. He gave me the codes to two units one of which he explained it was just painted and had not been cleaned yet which I was ok with because I just needed to get an idea of the layout. One unit very much so was not clean and the next was no better in my opinion. Needless to say my decision was a no from the beginning. If you can’t be happy doing a job then you probably should find a different field. Peoples attitudes can make or break a sale and his gave I’m giving this zero effort because either your going to lease this place or not. Very disappointed. Thanks for helping make my decision ten times easier.

I just moved in over a month ago and the A/C unit has been broken. It will not turn off so my powerbill is through the roof. Its been 3 weeks of constant reporting it to be repaired but it still isn't fixed and the leasing office has nothing but excuses as to why my A/C runs harder due to weather but it has barely broke 70 degrees outside (also a freezing warning outside last week) and it doesn't fix why my unit does not turn off. Currently at almost $700 in power bills and only a month and a half into my stay here and I am barely in the house as I working throughout the day.

I initially toured these apartments back in November to kind of get a eye on how they actually look in person and ended up falling in love with the set up. On that particular day when i toured i walked into the office where two women was in their separate offices and the greeting from both was very dry. I made an appointment to tour an apartment days before my actual tour date and the lady who "helped" (she didnt even introduce herself) had a horrible attitude, she was not friendly at all and kept repeating that she could not find me in the system for an appointment after i told her more than three times that my appointment date and time was correct and after also showing her my confirmation email, she then says well i can still let you tour and im looking at her confused because she just spent 15 mins trying to make a big deal about not finding me. She then proceeds to let me self tour for an apartment but doesnt go into any details regarding any amentities, whats included in the apartment pricing, etc. After this particular day i dont worry about reaching out again due to the fact of my current lease not ending until the end of feb anyways but i always keep an eye on whats available, how much the pricing change, etc for when i do apply. The only reason i stuck with these apartments is due to the privacy that they have which other apartments dont. Fast forward to more recently (last week) i decide to go tour another floor plan with the help of CP and finally apply the same day, beware of a 275 fee you have to pay upon applying, 75 for application, 200 for admin fee. I ask all questions regarding valet trash, fees, and they are answered. I finally get approved on today only to be told i would have to pay an $850 deposit not including the 200 i have to also pay which would be $1,050 upon move in, when my income and my roommate income together is more than 3x the rent (which is required) so i am confused as to why i was given the highest deposit when i've applied to places with a lesser income and lesser deposit amount in a better area. I previously was not even told about an deposit until today when i asked and i couldnt be told the amount until the lease was sent over. Mind you i also have to pay rent 4 days later which is $1400 and when asked about the current $500 off first rent payment, im always hit with dumb confusion when they are the ones who posted the promotion. No way any apartment should charge an $850 deposit, especially when they know they are gonna find any reason to not give it back when its move out time. I was also not told that my utility bill would be included in my rent payment through a third party company until i looked into reviews of different people who have lived here. Its ridculous that everyone in the office act dumb founded, i guess the $850 deposit is their way of getting that $500 back that they take off your rent payment for the first month if they even actually do that. Taneisha will leave a little message under everyone's reviews asking to reach out but they dont care.

Where do I even begin? On our move-in day, we arrived excited to settle in, only to be told that they did not have a unit ready for us. Let that sink in— we showed up, and there was no apartment for us. This was just the beginning of an absolute horror show. We should have taken that as a sign and ran!
Once we finally moved in, the problems started piling up. Our first unit reeked of smoke, and the complex did NOTHING to address the issue. After months of complaints, we had to suggest moving apartments ourselves because they clearly weren’t going to fix it.
In our second unit, the front door wouldn’t lock for over a week. We notified maintenance immediately, but they took their sweet time, leaving us feeling completely unsafe in our own home. When they finally showed up, they entered the apartment without warning, despite us specifically asking for notification before they came.
The pool? A greenish and cloudy mess. When we asked about it, someone in the leasing office told us to fix it ourselves. The audacity of that response is beyond belief.
Speaking of the leasing office, it’s a complete joke. The office is rarely staffed, and when someone is there, they’re clueless and unhelpful. Taneisha, in particular, is never in the office and refuses to accommodate residents with jobs, claiming she can’t meet with anyone after 3:00 PM. It’s clear that no one at this complex knows what they’re doing—or cares.
The property itself is a hazard. The windows don’t open, so if there’s a fire, good luck getting out. Maintenance crews destroy the grounds by driving their golf carts everywhere, leaving the place muddy and ugly every time it rains.
The most horrifying part was the mold and water damage. It was everywhere in the bedroom, and when we reported it, we were gaslit and told there was “no mold.” Their solution? Painting over it. This blatant disregard for residents’ health and safety is disgusting.
To top it all off, when we moved out, they immediately sent our payment to collections, locked us out of our rent payment account, and made it impossible to resolve anything. This complex operates like a scam, preying on residents and leaving them worse off than when they arrived.
If you’re considering The Outlook at Greystone, don’t. Save yourself the stress, frustration, and health risks. This place is an absolute disgrace!

Love, Love the apartment. Very disappointed in the office staff. The office manager does not return calls or emails. If you have an issue, you may as well figure it out on your own. There is clear a high turn over with office staff and that does not surprise me.

Taneisha you are the person / office staff who does not return calls or emails so I’m not sure why you are commenting here on this public platform when I have attempted to speak to you in private. Please have your next level manager reach out to me to address my concerns.

I lived here for 3 years and here is my review. When I moved into my apartment it was ‘updated’ at the time I moved in but it wasn’t finished. I had to attach light switch plates and call them to get some things the previous resident left. Also, whoever painted dropped paint in the bathtub and I never complained about it. So moving in, things weren’t top notch. Then when I moved out they nickel and dime me to where I had a balance. If I’m paying a crazy amount for a one bedroom I expect it to be perfect when I move in and when I move out I don’t expect to owe more money when I leave the apartment in great condition. If you want to be nickel and dime’d to death. Move here! You have to pay for ‘area water’ ’area lighting’ etc etc. I had to pay a ‘move out fee’. I don’t feel like this was fair compared to what I moved in to.

Overall living here wasn’t bad. It was quiet and my neighbors were mostly good with the exception of two. One lived under me and smoked weed and played loud music. I complained a lot about them. Then before I moved the neighbors beside me would argue. Mostly the female arguing and yelling. I don’t understand why people think they can act like that when they’re surrounded by people through walls.

The parking at building 4 was awful. People would park on the curb and try to squeeze in as many cars as they could and block the sidewalk. The apartment complex did nothing about this the entire time I lived there. It was so annoying.

I also had a window that would leak when it rained a lot and the wind would blow. I contacted them twice about this and it never got fixed. Water would drip down the wall and I would have to lay down towels.

The location is nice but the new townhomes across the street make turning on to hwy 119 a little more challenging

Just know the rent you’re quoted WITH trash and pest control you will receive a bill with water and sewer through the apartment complex. Then on the bill you will have a lot of charges for ‘area water’, ‘area electricity’ ‘area trash’ etc etc and you will be paying $100-$150 more a month. So be aware of the tiny fees. You’re paying your rent and for everything else on the property. You are nickel and dime’d for everything.

So overall.. it’s not awful here, but it’s not great. I hope they improve and mostly enjoyed my time here!
