My husband and I are delighted with the wonderful person at the visitor center that helped us have a great day in Taos early last week. She was very friendly and helpful when she mapped out the places of interest for us and how to easily find parking. Even better than that, she looked up business hours of places on our list and when I asked for place where I could eat some really good Tamales, she recommended Orlando's and the entire restaurant experience there was outstanding. The best Tamales, awesome service, and great atmosphere. Sorry I did not get your name at the visitor center. But thank you very much!!!

Felt extremely unwelcome by the elderly native woman behind the desk. Instead of telling my gf she'd been there too long using the wifi and that we couldn't stay there overnight in the parking lot after snowboarding, she called the cops. Taos PD are the best, super nice and able to discern danger. Taos "welcome"center personnel however very bitter of you love their ancestors nomadic lifestyle. They will try to get you caught up in the system. How ironic and tragic

Love Taos. Beautiful place. Living on the south end would be miserable. I feel so bad for those people. Whoever has the chihuahua (vicinity of the mission and a bit west) should seriously be ticketed. Like hello people bring your dog inside. That dog ruined my sleep which is RARE. To bark consistently until 3-4 in the morning. How is that okay? I know I’m not the only one and thankfully I get to leave. I can’t imagine having my days impacted by lack of sleep because someone wants their dog to experience freedom of voice.

Disappointed.

Just a shell of its former vibrant glory.  Very little travel literature & way too many tables of jewelry have replaced racks once stuffed with travel info, packaged food items, souvenirs, maps & a variety of beautiful Indian wares. Native American music CDs used to be played, now the silence is deafening.

On the bright side, clean bathrooms await!

The lady helping us was very friendly, and very informative. She helped me plot out all the sites I wanted to see. They had a really nice gift shop as well.

Clean bathrooms, visitor information, & free wi-fi available. A recent addition is the Taos Pueblo Artist Collective. Buy jewelry, beadwork, paintings, Taos drums, & photography from Taos Pueblo directly from the artists on site.

It’s less of a Tourist Center and more of a place people sell the things they have hand made without being exposed to the elements. The artists here are great - I bought stuff and was happy with my purchases. I gave it 4 stars bc it’s not a Tourist Center and there were no brochures which is what I was looking for

Friendly people everywhere! Helpful at the desk, and if you're lucky, you will go on a day where there are natives selling beautiful crafts. We met a well-known artist and bought a beautiful painting from her. We got to chat for a while and learn some things that we never would have known if we had just walked into an art gallery and saw her art hanging on a wall.
Same with a woman who was selling beautiful jewelry. We talked with her for quite a while, and my husband bought a drum that her dad had made. It was a pretty amazing experience.
