Update September 2024

Sunwest on the Plaza continues to underwhelm…. It’s a decent size store on the Plaza, but the prices are way to high for the quality of merchandise. The display cases are so jammed full of stuff it’s hard to shop. We were treated rather rudely this visit by the lone sales person, who was apparently miffed because her co-worker had gone to lunch. With so many wonderful places to shop, it’s not worth the time, effort and abuse to shop at Sunwest. Cannot recommend the shop!

Store right on the plaza, lots of jewelry in the cases. And, lots of other stuff! Not high end, but high prices. Sales folks do get into a bit of BS, until you call them out on it. They do offer discounts if you press them!

I felt that the level of customer support fell short of my expectations. Enhancing communication could significantly elevate the customer experience. I appreciate your attention to this feedback.

Absolutely horrendous. Two of the employees acted openly bigoted. They only worked with certain people and they treated a young lady like she couldn’t afford to be in there, and followed her around the whole store like a criminal. Seriously, in 2023 you’re going to treat people like that? Looking at the other reviews it seems like this has happened before, and the owners have yet to fix the problem.

I lost a beautiful silver earring that was purchased at Sunwest, and although they could not immediately replace it, they recognized the artist and within weeks were able to get me another pair! In a busy and often unappreciated tourist market it was remarkable that they kept my contact information and were able to match an earring that for me was a treasured gift. Thanks!

Bought a solid copper bracelet with sliver inlay at this store last month (February 2022). Within wearing the bracelet 3 times, a section of the copper wore off by the silver inlay. Since I live in a different state, I called them, and wrote an email asking for options. They never responded. I called them a second time and was told I could return it for a refund. I asked if an option for a discount could be given (as I am willing to take it to a jeweler to have it repaired). According to them that was not an option. This business needs to improve their customer service. I would recommend buying from someone else.

A totally fraud and extremely rude store. Whole time we were there the cashier was eyeing us very suspiciously. We purchased 74 dollars worth of gift items and after buying we first asked for a box for the glass mugs at first she said they don't have any very dismissively . Anyway as some of us were browsing and looking outside and was little distracted; when we got out of the store none one us were carrying the purchased items. We even have recorded proof as one person was on live . The live shows none of us had anything on us when we left the store. Anyway after returning home which is a whole another state we figured out how we never received the items. I called them right away. First she wouldn't hear the exact date and time of purchase . She just kept saying in very disparaging tone that no lost item was found over and over again . She wouldn't hear of anything not even when I was trying to give her the correct time and date. I never experienced such behavior in my shopping experience before . We should have left right away when we saw how rude the cashier was and how they were giving us scathing looks. Except this horrible experience the whole new mexico trip was great and didn't meet any hostile people. This just soured the whole trip and vacation. Please avoid this place if you can and specially if you are a POC.

Went in looking for the penny press machine! I found it! It's all the way in the back of the store. I didn't like any of the designs, so I didn't end up getting a pressed penny, but I'm glad the machine is there.

The store has a LOT of gifts and souvenirs. There's a lot packed into the small store. I didn't see any postcards.

I was glad that the woman working was telling people they needed to wear their masks if they were going to be in the store. Thank you!!!

I loved this shop! No, I didn’t buy anything but the nice men taught me about the Navajo culture and customs. I learned about the animals, the jewelry, and what makes some pieces more expensive than others. We were looking for Ristras and something to do, these men pointed us in the right direction and even gave us some short cuts! Cool!!! I can’t wait to come back!
