I’ve been for dinner twice and loved it both times. I brought my whole family here from Chicago. We enjoyed the food and atmosphere. The service is excellent. It’s a lovely dining room, with a nice American menu. We loved all the food — and drinks. The lamb chops were party good.

Order take out fish and chips. The batter of the fish was raw, uncooked, yet the fish was cooked. Disgusting! How can you mess up deep fried fish? That's the first and hopefully last time I ever experience that! And yet reviews said it was a great place to eat. The fries and slaw were fine.

Ate in the tavern. Did not stay in a room. Service quick and food excellent. Party of four and miscommunication with waitress only one fish & chips delivered instead of two. Ran out of fish, we arrived half an hour before kitchen closed. Ordered burger instead which was excellent. Portions are large. Drinks very good. Dessert had a different take on chocolate mousse which was thicker, not the usual creamy consistency but very flavorful and white chocolate bark with nuts and fruit really nice.
We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and the order error was not a big deal to us. Staff very accommodating. Prices about $45 per person for drinks, dinner, desserts with coffee and liquor

I celebrated my birthday here, it was my first visit and I was very impressed! The location is absolutely beautiful, I loved the decor, our waitress was friendly & excellent, & I loved the fish & truffle fries!

Spacious room, and bathroom, and nicely decorated. Cool bar. We ate dinner here both nights, and the food was quite good. Breakfast is minimalist, but there are two breakfast places w/in a couple blocks: one diner-style place for pancakes and the like, the other a more hipster cafe for avocado toast or breakfast burritos (recommended). Unfortunately, we were here the weekend after the ferry stopped running for the season; that would have been neat. Would stay here again.

I am a repeat visitor. First time was in 2022 and then this past weekend. This place is so quaint and picturesque. Food is great! Drinks are made very well and fast. The River Grill is like something out of a storybook. It’s a great getaway on the Hudson River, but far away from the frills. The ONLY gripe I had about this past trip was that the breakfast nook was not replenished when I came out for coffee Sunday AM. There were no mugs, creamer and the milk was spoiled. Texted a request at 9:28 AM and don’t hear back until 9:51 AM stating they would replenish, but that never happened. So I just walked up the street and bought a cup of coffee, but it wasn’t the same. Disappointed that they didn’t care enough to make it right.
