I have been doing business with this coop for for many years. I have had problems with bugs in the ( expensive) deer feed many times. ( this never happens at Thrasher Feed in Bessemer). This last time, the weevils were again in the feed when I got it home. However, I didn’t turn around right then and take it back. Why? My wife has been very ill with breast cancer that has stopped responding to chemo which necessitated her having multiple tests, biopsies, appointments and changing chemo. We wanted to go out of town for a few ( four) days before all this started. In addition. I too have had multiple appointments with a cancer problem and our cat had to have radioactive iodine in Huntsville for thyroid problems!! So, to say the least, I have been distracted and not overly concerned about the weevils.

Then , when I recently went to open another bag of feed, weevils were everywhere. This is dangerous to some wildlife ( turkey especially) due to mold. So I wanted to take it back. The coop refused.

The coop said that if I had called them when I first got home with the feed, they would have swapped or refunded. I’m not sure I didn’t call them but I don’t recall. However, this is a moot point since the weevils were in it from the start . So essentially, they are saying they don’t believe me. What other reason would they have? So I am out approximately $ 250 ( or more) and they are out nothing.

That is a personal insult as well as being unfair and I will no longer do business with this coop despite their relative proximity and despite my having been a customer for many years.

This Co-op is the greatest place for so many different types of animal or farm supply's, sprays, gifts and feed supply's + much more. The owners of this place go far and beyond to help there customers. They will even load your items for you. Every time I go here I am always satisfied with my items and my service.. There is always that one special place you go to that you know what you get is worth the money and this is that place for me. I have bought many Christmas gifts here for family and friends and I have never been disappointed. If you have never been here, then you should stop there and check all there items out. Great prices on dog food + farm animal food also.. Thanks St.Clair Farmers Co-op for the many years of service you've given to me...

I love that they hold chicks for people so everyone can have some. Other places is first come first served and many people buy them all up before you get a chance.

There were two attendants one couldn't answer my questions and the male attendant sort of refused to by telling me over and over again not to put the fertilizer he suggested on my beans. I think he was enjoying himself so much so another customer chimed in with him. So I didn't have a good experience. I"m sure the man isn't incompetent, but he was unwilling to help educate me as a new grower, was a bit condescending and paternalistic, but what did I expect. Me a black woman walking in there expecting to be taken seriously by good ole boys.
