The store is really fun and has tons of great stuff, but buying a firearm here is a nightmare. I spent 2 hours and 20 minutes waiting for my turn, even though the check-in kiosk initially indicated a 1-minute wait time. No matter how good the deals are, I can't say I would ever buy a gun here. Go to a local gun store instead.

Went in to potentially purchase two rifles. I went in from the right side so I didn’t know there was A QR code sign to get in line. I stood there for 15 minutes, waiting patiently with no issues until another person came in and I saw them scan the QR sign and that is when I realized that, that was I was supposed to do. After that, I signed in, and I notified the person behind the counter. I didn’t realize that I needed to sign in and I’ve already been waiting. He said they only go by the QR sign in which is understandable but there’s also a part of customer service or if you don’t acknowledge someone and there’s only one tiny sign near a 30 foot counter. Maybe you can make an exception. When I went to the front, I asked to speak to the manager, and I was told it’s the same person behind the counter. Unfortunately, this is why big box businesses are going out of business. I went over to a different local small shop and bought two rifles from there instead. I will definitely not be going back.

Make an appointment at the front of the gun desk to avoid long wait times (QR CODE SCAN). Made a purchase recently and it went great just bring proper documentation. Overall wish it was a bit faster but acceptable. Good prices on ammo and guns .

The gun counter is an issue. Third and final time trying to give them my business. I was ignored all three times for at least ten minutes. Today was my last visit. I walked in and stood there patiently. After several minutes of looking at guns through the glass, another customer walked up and was acknowledged right away. The lady behind the counter ended up being the manager, according to the manager up front. If Kelsey (sp) is in charge and still treats people like that, I don’t see it getting better. I guess I’ll have to drive three times as far for better service. Bummer

Wait times at the gun counter are a result of California’s onerous regulations for firearm purchases. The idiocy of people posting negative reviews because employees must follow these oppressive state laws is astounding. The appointment system exists for a reason.

It was ok, however, because they inputted my information wrong in the state system when I bought my fishing license, I got a citation at the lake since my name wouldn't be in the system. I'm going to the store tomorrow to see what they said about their mistake, and I'll repost a review based in the results.

Been here several times and I can't understand why I put myself thru this every time! At night (after 7pm) they had 2 girls working the gun counter. They were efficient, but the fact that they stop doing paperwork for potential gun owners or to pickup their firearm to help people just buying ammo. There should be another person working that counter for just ammo.
On top of that I'm here now 4pm on 12/16 and there is literally 1 guy working the gun counter! Seriously There are 6 stations across the counter and at any given time, 1 or 2 employees working the counter? That's just wrong!
Oh excuse me, now there are 3. Come on sportsman's, there are plenty of people complaining about the time we have to wait here. Add more employees to the gun counter please!!
