Beautiful place, make sure your truck/car is up with maintenance. There are a lot of cars/trucks stranded on the way up the mountain!

Nothing beats visiting the national forest. Peaceful. Spacious. Quiet.
This forest has been receiving some cleanup and maintenance and looks fantastic. It was very noticeable during the drive in to our camp site that great care had been taken to protect the land.
We stayed one week and loved it!
We will be back.

Sitgreaves is probably one of the nicest and well kept forests in Arizona, in my opinion.
The FS roads are all beautifully maintained, and if there not they are closed and marked. Each trail head is marked and well kept.
There are national forest services staff members riding around in water trucks after major holidays, and on more than one occasion I saw maintenance being done on back back roads just so people could access them.
HIGHLY suggest Sitgreaves.

My favorite National Forrest in AZ! Honestly, flagstaff is overrated and the beauty here can’t be beat. I am bias though because, I grew up in the white mountains.

In Phoenix it was 112° but up in Payson by the rim it was 80° fresh air good food and friends. A yearly camping tradition for my friends and our sons.

Always a beautiful escape from the hustle and bustle of the Valley. Forrest service does a beautiful job of maintaining the sites and roads. Holliday weekends can be a bit busy however still a great place to visit and camp.

One of the best forests in AZ , great weather in the summer and so much to do . Hiking, fishing, hunting, boating, even just to enjoy the outdoors ..

I like this area. The lake was low but it was summer. The wild horses came to get a drink which was awesome. There are a lot of places to ride your UTV.
