I am mainly a boating customer. Tom, in the service department, has taken excellent care of my service issues. Repairs were prompt and done right. I also really enjoy the on-site store. They have just about anything you could need for DIY service parts. Excellent selection for both boat, boat trailer, and RV parts.

Update: after years of service at this shop, my experience is that they have treated me like family. After buying an RV, then upgrading to a toy hauler, this shop has been a godsend for RV repairs, trailer upgrades and service. They have fixed electrical shorts, roof repairs, upgraded from 30 to 50 amp, welding repairs. I believe there isn’t anything they can’t do. Tom and Matthew have been outstanding. The service turnaround and communication are great as well. I highly recommend. On my boat, they have rebuilt my trailer, installed a custom bimini top, custom swim platform, and a major outdrive repair that required the motor to be pulled out. Fast service and quick turnaround as always. Thank you!

I had a terrible experience with Richard’s Marine Repair. In April 2024, I took my Crestliner boat in for a gimbal bearing replacement. Six months later, during a routine check at Venice Marine in Castaic, they found the gimbal bearing still needed replacing. When I contacted Richard’s, they denied any responsibility and asked me to bring it back (why would I do that). I then got a third opinion from another boat mechanic in Rosamond, CA, who confirmed the bearing had never been replaced—it was old and rusted. I even showed Richard’s the part, but Tom looked me dead in the eye and insisted it was new. As a business owner in the AV, I can’t recommend this place to anyone! BEWARE!

I bought an older 87 champion from Richards a couple months ago. They were great to deal with and I feel I got a good deal on the boat. I have had the boat out every weekend since buying it and it has given me zero issues. I would certainly buy from Richards again when it comes time to upgrade! I bought a 1991 seanymph 165 from a friend, the boat hasn’t run for many years. I took it to Richard’s Boat Shop for repairs on the two outboard motors Johnson 70 and a Johnson 15 both 2 stroke motors. And also go through all the electrical on the boat, when it was done ( only took a few days) the boat ran like new. I’ve never been happier..Fantastic job, clean shop, and nice professional staff..there the best with no doubt…
