I have been so excited to visit Respectrum books in Sussex NJ because this is where I grew up! When I was younger, this building was a consignment shop where we used to get clothes 🙂

I didn’t know what to expect, but as soon as I walked in, it felt like a yoga studio with books! The store had such a relaxing atmosphere and was filled with the COOLEST finds!

The owner, Stephen, was so kind and knowledgeable! I could have spent hours browsing and chatting with him! His store truly is one of a kind and Sussex is lucky to have this incredible store!

If you are in the area, or headed to high point state park or crystal springs resort you NEED to visit this store!

We stumbled upon this bookshop while passing through town and it completely made my day! Such a wonderful little shop with a great selection and friendly owner. Loved the "blind date with a book" offer. The only disappointment is that we live too far away to come back frequently!

We discovered this charming bookstore just yesterday. The owner is a very friendly and knowledgeable fellow. He made us feel very welcome. It is beautifully decorated with a wonderful mix of items in addition to a book collection that has something for everyone. I can't recommend visiting this new business highly enough.

This bookstore has a little of everything, but A LOT of heart. Stephen is a fantastic, superbly friendly, interested, interesting, attentive, generous guy, who obviously loves books so much, that he wants to give you the opportunity to find them. Well organized, clean, roomy, eclectic and old-school, this shop is a definitely good stop-off in a weekend-long book-hunt through the north-western part of NJ.

We were driving through town and saw a sign for this bookstore and decided to stop on the spur of the moment. I'm glad we did! For a small store its collection is very well curated and diverse, with a lot of great kids books (the owner is great with kids), and the prices are excellent. We walked out with a half a dozen books that we didn't know we wanted without making too big a dent on my wallet.

Though it is a relatively small store in contrast to a certain bookstore giant, this quaint bookstore lines its walls with countless books of all kinds at great prices in an almost decorative manner. This is a place owned by a very welcoming, friendly, and erudite man who clearly honors learning and sharing knowledge in a countered pretentious way. If you live in the area, or are just passing, like I, make sure to give this place a visit, for it is certainly worth the stop.

Came across this gem while following GPS in an area of NJ that's new to me. Stephen, the proprietor, was warm, welcoming, and beyond helpful. Tons of events are scheduled in the coming months...if I can't make them, I'm still going back to better explore this treasure. In a world of big box bookstores and Amazon click and buy...it's wonderful to find a genuine old fashioned bookstore where the bookseller speaks knowledgeably about his inventory and who is involved in supporting his community. Stephen, if you read this, I will definitely see you soon!
