I recently visited the Rainbow Rock Shop and, unfortunately, the shop was closed when I got there. Despite this, the visit was still worthwhile because of the fantastic dinosaur statues outside. These life-sized models are fun to see, making for a great roadside attraction.

Even though I couldn’t explore the shop itself, the dinosaur statues provided a unique and entertaining experience. If you’re passing through, it’s definitely worth stopping by to check out these impressive sculptures. Hopefully, next time I’ll get a chance to visit the shop as well!

Not sure how some of these Route 66 places stay in business but I'm sure glad they do!! Rainbow Rock Shop is a relic, just like the dinosaurs all around the outside! The dinosaurs are huge but then so are the piles upon piles of petrified wood and other rocks surrounding the building. I believe my husband was grateful they were closed, he seemed to relax a bit more as we strolled around the perimeter!! I definitely would have loved to get my hands on some of the fine specimens they had just laying in the dirt!

Everywhere we looked it said they were open the afternoon we drove through town but unfortunately it was all locked up and no sign of anybody around. Since we found it on Roadside Attractions, we treated it as such and just enjoyed the unique dinosaurs and a chance to stretch our legs! Perhaps some day we'll return and one of the beautiful rocks will come home with me!

If you’re looking for petrified wood, rainbow rock shop is the place for you!

located right on Navajo Boulevard in downtown Holbrook just over the bridge going to Highway 40 the old man who owns the shop has accumulated piles, mountains of petrified wood of all sizes and types. It is a treasure hunt to go find the piece that speaks to you! So much fun!

A great experience for families with children, because the kids can look and find their own special piece of petrified wood and not break mom and dad‘s wallet! Tiny pieces can be pennies larger pieces could be hundreds of thousands of dollars (very large pieces). most of the inventory is in raw pieces that are unfinished, uncut, and unaltered.

inside the shop, there are many pieces of jewelry versus other fossils, polished and cut pieces of petrified wood and many other unexpected “treasures“. No matter how you cut it. This is a pretty fun place.

The iconic dinosaur rock shop in Holbrook. The real treasure is the owner Adam Moon. If you have the time, speak with him and listen. He has cut petrified wood that is polished that he can show you. Buy a rock and keep route 66 alive.

This place is really cool. The outside part has a bunch of geodes and petrified wood, the inside has nicer items. The person running it was really nice. Definitely worth a mini side trip if you are in the area.

We LOVE this place. Adam is an incredible character and spent hours chatting with us about his life and ours, and we really took his words of wisdom to heart. We went home with several absolutely beautiful pieces of petrified wood and can’t wait to spend more time browsing Adam’s collection.

We just happened to see this beautiful place as we were passing through town. We saw a sign that said geodes and because we both love geodes so much we stopped by and saw COUNTLESS treasures! Mr. Adam.. it was an HONOR to meet him and converse with him. If you take the time to stop and listen… you may learn something! I know we did! Thank you!

Awesome and unique local shop. Talked with the gentleman who runs the place for quite a bit. He's from Mexico and had some great stories to tell. He's willing to negotiate with you so bring him what you like and make a deal!
