Disappointing Customer Service Experience

I’ve been to Plato’s Closet multiple times, and while I understand that resell stores have their own standards, the customer service at this location is consistently awful. The girls working here are extremely rude, making snarky comments and acting like they’re doing me a favor just by acknowledging my presence. Even when I try to be polite saying “have a good night” or “thank you” they don’t even bother to respond.

It’s really frustrating because I love the concept of the store, but the attitude from the employees makes the shopping and selling experience so unpleasant. If you’re going to work in customer service, the bare minimum is common courtesy. I’d rather take my clothes somewhere that values both buyers and sellers!

Visited the store this week, and I have to say it was one of the worst customer service experiences I’ve ever had. From the moment I walked in, it was clear that the employees were more focused on their phones and personal conversations than assisting customers. During my visit, they were loudly discussing someone getting fired, laughing, and making jokes about the person. Not only was this unprofessional, but it also created a really uncomfortable atmosphere. On top of that, they took an unnecessarily long time to check me out because they were on their phone and acted like I was inconveniencing them just by being there. Their attitude reminded me of mean high school girls rather than a team of professionals providing customer service. Unfortunately, based on this experience, I would rather shop at a different location or even at Goodwill than return to this store. No customer should feel unwelcome or ignored while shopping.

I am a frequent Plato’s closet shopper, and decided to try this location out since I was on this side of town. Needless to say I will never be returning. The atmosphere was off and just not as clean as I would imagine. The employees had horrible customer service. One of the employees that had two braids was extremely rude to another customer. And all the girls were just gossiping/whispering rather than doing their job. I wish I caught more of their names so owners know what their employees are doing. Very unprofessional. I think save the chatting for when the store is up to expectations and do your job.

We decided to take a drive over to the west side to check out the new location much larger than their sister locations a lot of inventory on hand.. trade time is way too long though, so if you’re driving from somewhere else that’s not even possible to do a trade she said it was gonna be about two hours and that you need to be here first thing in the morning… they do have a public bathroom but you do have to have an employee let you in the bathroom…

People can complain about the pricing and how much they pay for you stuff but this place is better than any Plato’s or thrift store I’ve gone to. Amazing stuff and the staff is so nice. Always greeting you at the door, politely asking if you need help, immediately helps when you ask, and constantly cleaning and organizing the store, just so engaging! I never feel judged.
Great and friendly!

The only mainly carry casual wear and they don't have a lot of variety or items for plus size women

Got a decent return from clothes I had sold. However the customer service could be improved. I had to figure out how to check in on my own on the tablet before someone had came up to the register and taken the clothes to be processed. I probably had stood around for a good 8 minutes while employees were just talking amongst each other in the corner of the store. Defintely got a weird vibe I don’t know if it’s like this everyday. This happened today 12/8/23 around 11am-2pm.
