My partner and I truly felt relaxed with the environment and room. The room was peaceful, clean and so comfortable. The food was great, not so great if you are a picky eater since it is a set menu with limited options, my favorite was the dessert and the caviar at an extra cost. Spa was relaxing, my fiance booked me a deep tissue massage and unfortunately it was not so great. I was really expecting the best massage of my life do to the reviews and price tag. I was really disappointed that I got the opposite of a deep tissue massage and would've been better off with not spending money on it. Really disappointed since this is known to be a "spa resort". Aside from that I did enjoy my stay here.

This hotel is beautiful! The rooms are very comfortable and private, each one is its own cabin and it includes complimentary snacks. The hotel is in nature and very peaceful. There is a spa that has a water circuit - sauna, steam room, hot tub and mineral cool plunge. My partner and I went to Piaule for a long weekend and really enjoyed spending hours at the spa! There is a yoga room with a few sets of weights (5,10,15,20,25) but working out isn’t really the vibe. The food on site is delicious and breakfast and lunch is very reasonably priced!

Fantastic! We went to celebrate my dogs 10th birthday. They were so accommodating and welcoming to him, bringing him special treats at meals, even bringing out a pup cup with a candle. The attention to detail was lovely and made us feel so at home. Not to mention the space, which is absolutely gorgeous.

My girlfriend-turned-fiancée and I stayed at Piaule after Christmas and it could not have been more wonderful! The entire staff was incredible throughout our stay, especially those who helped me coordinate my proposal and reserving the meditation room in the spa for private photos the next morning. All dining experiences were absolutely delicious and the service from Mark and Bob specifically was fantastic. All aspects of the cabin, spa, and lobby were thoughtfully planned and such high quality. Despite the fact that we stayed here during a fully booked weekend, our dining and spa experiences felt completely private and intimate. Piaule quickly became a very special place for us and we are already looking forward to coming back!

Don’t listen to negative reviews here. This was one of the BEST long weekends I’ve taken ever. It’s perfect for relaxing and getting away from the world. I would recommend only going for a few days since it’s not a huge complex, but if you decide to hang out in Hudson or around the mountains, there’s more to do. And splurge to book a massage! I nearly cried!

We really wanted to love the Piaule! The landscape and design of the rooms are both so beautiful. My friends and I got a two room cabin that didn't have heat in half the place upon arrival. We spent the first 24 hours dealing with the a broken heater in the room, which entailed convincing the front desk people it was actually broken, waiting for the onsite supervisor to assist, being told it was fixed, and then sleeping the first night in a very cold and expensive room. The next day we spent working with the front desk staff to come to resolution - we really wanted to spend time in the room, hang out, drink coffee, do some watercolors - doing vacation things with friends! But the entire weekend was taken over by this heat problem and the incredibly rude front desk staff and their seemingly absent manager, who refused to work with us on anything until I then had to be rude back in order to get some kind of appropriate discount. I really hate spending a trip complaining - especially one that was supposed to be so special. |Eventually, they got us a separate cabin that had heat, and we reached a financial resolution that was fair - so I will say that they fixed the problem. But it wasn't done in a way that a five star hotel should handle an issue. They put the onus on us to deal with it, come up with ways to solve it, and I think even I eventually apologized for the inconvenience? I recommend the staff do some five star hotel customer service training - or perhaps find jobs where they don't have to interface with guests! Not everyone is meant for customer service, so I get that they don't like when guests complain, but I swear the last thing I wanted to do was spend time on this trip hemming and hawing over heat (it was a ten degree upstate New York weekend - very cold!). ||TLDR: Don't stay here, it's overpriced, the service is abysmal, and you run the risk of no heat in a small cottage.

Piaule is a superbly designed oasis in upstate New York well worth a visit from near or far. The aesthetic is unique and extremely well done; the food is flawless; bar program top notch. The sauna and hot / cold pools are relaxing and the whole experience is like a big exhale from the rest of your life. The service is excellent (but hands off, in a good way). Clientele skews young hip wealthy people from New York City, but the ones who like street art not the ones who wear boat shoes. Give it a go. You’ll have a good time.

Piaule is incredible. The mineral pool in this weather was amazing - steam room and spa - pure relaxation . This place is built for you to clear your head, enjoy some peace, and truly recharge. Food, Wine and Cocktails all great - Thoughtful design, great atmosphere, music, fire place and everything about it feels like a getaway done right. Highly recommend.
