Came here for the first time to have my daughter's cockatiel's nails and wings clipped. I made the appointment online, which was quick and easy. The store is small but fantastic. They have so much stuff for birds. They cut his wings and nails so fast that I didn't even see it happen, but they were done well. I definitely recommend this store for any bird wants and needs. They are super knowledgeable and nice there.

6 months ago I purchased a male Red Factor canary for $200. Paterson Bird store issued a certificate of purchase, which stated date of purchase and the sex of the bird. It was a beautiful, and healthy canary. I brought it home, and began playing quiet classical music to encourage 'Vanya' to enjoy his surroundings, and to mainly encourage him to sing. One week went by. And then another. Pretty soon, it was a month, and then followed by another month. Vanya was not singing. I was patient. I would hear chirping, and it sounded as though it were getting louder with evert chirp. Still no loud canary warble.

A family member made a comment that ......maybe it's a female canary Female canary's DO NOT SING!!

I called Paterson Bird store and inquired about their exchange policy, since I purchased a male, but in fact, it was a female canary instead.

Why didn't I come back within 30 days, they asked?

The canary was healthy, and it did warble, and I was being patient with my new friend, giving him time to adjust to his new home, I replied!

'Well, our store policy is 30 days for returns or exchanges' I was told!

'But, you sold me a female, and I was buying a male! You sold me a wrong bird!!

I would never again go back to Paterson Bird Store, again! Not for bird food nor to speak with anyone about their fraudulent sales! I found Pete's Bird Garden in West New York. Pete has a store full of Red Factor, and other canary's priced at $90. He listened to my problem, and sold me a beautiful male at $60, and discounted $30 in exchange for my female canary! A total stranger exchanged my birdie with no problem! That's how Paterson Bird store should've handled their own mistake, instead of hiding behind their 30-day policy!!

Two years in a row now I have left my cockatiel for boarding, almost two weeks at a time. Both times he came back so happy and healthy, and it was evident that they followed the instructions for his special food.
On top of the great boarding service, I have picked up nice bulk bags of seeds and millet sprays for treats.

Store sold me a sick bird. The lady was very persistent in me taking the sick one when I bought it. Had to take it to a vet to confirm the illness of the bird and learn that the bird will require medication for the remainder of its life. The medication was also an extra charge.

Update: Just seen the store call this spam. That vet bill wasn’t spam. I called the store the same day I bought it. I also called it a few times after. Even brought it to the store a couple times to get an opinion before the eventual vet visit. Thank you saying I don’t exist!

Great shop! They've got a great variety of toys and food for your birdie. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable. I originally came in because I'm gonna be boarding my Conure and I wanted to see the area he would be staying! It's nice and clean. I feel comfortable having them care for my bird while I'm away.
