Stopped at the Sweet Shop Restaurant while passing through Raton. We were 15 minutes before closing and they were welcoming and gracious. Green Chili was classic old school with a nice hint of spice. Burgers were hand made with excellent quality beef. The old school chicken salad sandwich on generously buttered and griddled homemade bread was a wonderful take on a classic. Really nice to see an older restaurant that still maintains pride in their food and service. Lots of old time pictures compliment the classic decor that invokes an appreciation of a lost era of American dining.

Pappa’s Sweet Shop is a must stop! Not only is the staff incredibly kind, the food is AMAZING! Even the pickiest of eaters will find something to love here. From smothered burritos in the best green chili gravy ever to pancakes and cream sodas; Pappa’s has it all. It is also very child friendly; a waiter went above and beyond to make my nephew feel grown up and welcomed. He was so excited to be noticed that he enthusiastically gave many hugs to the staff and they smiled and hugged him right back. They literally made the difference in our entire trip!

We went here today and almost walked out without our food . We had to wait over an hour and fifteen minutes for our food. The staff was very friendly and we got good service. We were starving by the time we ate so I did not get pics of the food. The food was pretty good. The cinnamon roll was yummy. My only complaint was the wait time. The server said it was due to the to go orders. My point of view is make the wait time for those longer, not the people setting in your restaurant.

Let me start off by saying our server Debbie was AMAZING!!!! Never did our coffee get cold. Food was hot fresh and delicious. Homemade bread for my breakfast sandwich, perfectly spiced Chile' for the stuffed breakfast sopapilla. Excellent portion sizes, prices beyond reasonable. Cannot wait until our kids come to visit so they can enjoy this glorious little shop. 100% recommend. Thank you!!!

We were on our way back to Colorado and wanted some good New Mexican food. A lady we talked to highly recommended this place. (The name alone should have told us "not Mexican). While the man who sat us and our waitress were very nice and the portions are huge, the food is bland beans and all. The green and red chili are like gravy, not spicy at all. That is not hatch green chili. My husband and I split a plate of enchilada and 2 tacos and we still had to take the sopapillas with us. Would not go there for Mexican food.

Went there on our way to Colorado because it's "the best breakfast place " at Raton NM. I've never had such tasteless food which took 50 minutes to come for what ever reason by the way. Don't even bother to go there because the food is not good at all
