The Naval Air Station Lemoore is located conveniently on highway 198, and just east of the I-5 interstate. NAS Lemoore is a United States Navy base, located just west of Lemo0re, California. This base is an active military base, so therefore you must have a military identification card to access the base. We visited this military base a few weeks ago, as we was traveling to southern California. We saw some of the facilities that they base offers for the military retirees, active duty members, national guard and reserve members, and military family members. I'm sure that we will return for another visit the next time we're visiting the central California area.

Tip: don't forget to check out the planes at the other gate entrance, it was a cool experience watching them train! They have a nice seating area and parking for you to enjoy.

If your driving thru Lemoore and have some time to kill pull over anywhere near the the NAS Lemoore Military Base and you can watch some of our Naval Pilot Airmen doing maneuvers in their F15 fighter jets. Th rumble when they pass over is incredible, kids of all ages will love it

On any given day they are out there and do fly bys about every 15 min. It’s like a personal air show... very cool.

Pretty bland base. Bare and most of where you'd expect to see grass was dead. Amenities are average compared to other bases.

Stationed there 2002-2005, Security Dept. Lemoore, Fresno, and Hanford close by, plenty to do. LA 2.5 hours away. If you think getting on-base in the morning is bad now, should've been here before the by-pass and gate upgrades: you had to drive through the main gate then Ops, both times ID checks because there was no perimeter fence! Housing looks new. Best gym I ever saw in 20 years active duty. Rent and housing "should be" (was when I was there!) affordable but then it's California! You need private transportation to get around so my tip is don't drink & drive and lose this privilege! Nothing to do? How about SURFING at the new surf park up the road featured in the World Surf tour? Didn't have that when I was there!

I just want to remind everyone who's driving Tesla to here. REMEMBER TO BRING A J1772 TO TESLA ADAPTER!!! otherwise you won't be able to charge it on base. The nearest supercharge station is 30 miles away. And Amazon order takes 5-8 days to arrive here.

Cons: Was stationed here for 2 1/2 years in VFA 122. (Very) dry hot temperatures during the summer, the water does not pass local County, State regulations and testing, so the drinking water does not pass as safe to drink, the valley is a bowl and the farming, over packed cow lots cause serious air pollution. Gate traffic in the morning onto Ops Side commonly takes anywhere from 23 min. to 60+min. Almost a must in owning a car here to get around, Valley Fever exposure potential, common for personnel to be diagnosed with partial asthma or allergies while stationed here. Some medical, mental health military staff are uncaring, don't do there job of helping people like they should, this could be due to large patient to small staff ratio.
Personally, I was drugged, forced MST by a coworker at a mandatory Christmas party at the Tachi Casino and Hotel. Please, be careful while stationed here.

Pro's: The gym on mainside, the movie theatre, the swimming pool, the base housing, (The people) Throughout all types of military personnel stationed here, there are genuinely good, hard working people, who help support, teach, and mentor. Wonderful caring, helpful staff at Fleet and Family Support Center. Some Doctors and supporting staff do all they can to help you in any way they can.
The large amount of people stationed here allows for the opportunity to make good friends. Best of luck to anyone stationed here.
Having a car to get away is a really good way to keep your sanity and make life decent outside work.

Do not try and go on base without a base pass! You cant just stop in and drive around the neighborhood/base like you would in your city or town. Make sure when trying or applying for a base pass you have ID vehicle registration and insurance. You CAN NOT just visit the base without being invited on base. If invited you can park outside of base and ride in with your host or to drive yourself your host is going to escort you on base. You will still need to above mentioned. The Officers/Navy Police/Military Members at the gate that check you are ALWAYS RESPECTFUL, TO THE POINT while greeting you and say either have a good/great day. Thank you for your service NAS LEMOORE.

Civilians will not see parked jets. They are on the "Ops" side and only those with clearance get to go on that side.

Side note the jets are constantly flying overhead usually pairs of 2 sometimes 3 during the day and its awesome to see. Couple of times I saw them in a group of 4 and from my angel it looked like they were touching. Amazing. πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡Έ
