Food was good although one of the dish was quite salty. We informed the waitress to advise cook. Candice was awesome. She was alone but informed everyone while serving so that helped ease the impatient customers. All in all good food and friendly staff. I’d come back. Thank you for the discount!!

Staff is really accommodating! I came with my family, including two young children. The staff loved my kids and chatted with them whenever they could.

The food is fantastic and well done. The steak I had was cooked perfectly medium rare. My husband's was perfectly rare. My in-laws enjoyed their salads and soup. Their soup of the day was made with the prime rib from the night before. My husband says it was tender and flavorful.

Fantastic place in Lone Pine, typical American Deep East, with good burgers and good beers. Very friendly and fast waitress service. After crossing Death Valley, it tasted wonderful. I loved how it was set, with dedicated photos of many actors, from typical Western movies. Totally recommended.

Mom came to town. I warned her. I can take you to breakfast, but wherever you pick service will be bad, but food is ok… I lied! These are our ā€œextra crispy on both sidesā€ hash browns, cold, no crisp. The worst part was the ā€œchicken fried steakā€ a hard rubber shoe. I ate one bite. It wasn’t fit to eat. The coffee was weak and looked like water. I let both servers know my chicken friend steak was inedible. Not one sorry or anything! Literally, not one word said!

The biscuit, gravy, eggs and bacon were perfect! The pictures below are of the food that was paid for of course and not ate.

This burger joint truly lives up to its claim as the best in town. The vibe is chill and friendly, and the staff member Kelby is a star—definitely ask for him and say hi! The elk burger is from another world and packed with flavor, and the BBQ sauce takes it to a whole new level. Every bite just hits the spot. Whether you’re a local or just cruising by, you’ve got to check this place out. It’s casual, delicious, and simply the best burger experience around.

This is one of those places that just looks very interesting on the outside. As you walk in, it has a very old time feel to it that is enjoyable to those that value that style. The place gave me a sense of better times being behind it though. The food was a bit pricy so I got the Classic Burger(w/cheese1$). It was average at best. I'd give that burger a 5 out of ten and only because I was hungry. The classic burger comes with a bag of potato chips instead of fries. Almost like they didn't care if I was impressed or not.. which is interesting because the sign out front claimed they have the best burgers in town. I sincerely hope this isn't the best that Lone Pine has to offer. I'm on the fence on this one, guys. Good luck to those reading thisšŸ¤ž

The absolute slam dunk of Mt Whitney Restaurant is the location to the Dow hotel right across the street.

What to expect: This is a casual neighborhood/passerby restaurant on the main strip through town. It is not fast food. I did receive my order in 12 minutes. The atmosphere is relaxed with black and white or sepia photos of old western movie stars… although I did see a Clint Eastwood photo… I am not that old. šŸ˜†. It appears to be a bit of a local spot too. This diner is located close to hiking and most notably Death Valley.

About the Food: I expected something a little higher end to be completely transparent. The venison burger I received was a bit strange in texture, possibly freezer burned a little. I did not finish my onion rings, everything just seemed fast food or frozen type food. I’d love to see a place like this make a dish or two for a signature taste and feel. Unfortunately this was not what ā€œThe Typical Touristā€ should expect.

Absolutely loved the decor, there’s nothing better than paying homage to historic figures in the way Mt Whitney Restaurant does. It is convenient, needs work on food, at least the burger.

You will get great personable service when you sit down, in that area, home run.

Well, as I sit here weighing how to review Mt. Whitney Restaurant, I’m trying to pull on anything and everything to give it 5-stars but I can’t find the ā€œthingā€ to push it from good to great. Overall, I had a good experience, nothing really wrong, but also nothing that stands out.

Our group tried a variety of the burgers. I had the Bacon Cheeseburger with fries. We all agreed the burgers were pretty tasty. But that’s kinda where it ends. Not much else to say.

Aside from that, I tried the Apple Pie and ice cream for dessert and that was delicious! I really enjoyed this.

Service was slow on a few items we asked for. I try not to hold this against any of the places I visit as I know everywhere is understaffed these days and I appreciate the small businesses trying to keep on fighting. There is a limit though and I felt we pushed this limit a few times.

In general, if you choose to visit, I believe you’ll enjoy your meal and experience here! I hope you continue to support small/local businesses like I do. I’ll be sure to visit again when I’m in the area and give some other burgers a try.
