We were here in Saturday afternoon but it was closed. Outside, we found several telescopes and it tells you which one is Mt. Whitney, the highest mountain in the lower 48 states of the United States.

Always a fun stop to view Mt Whitney and gather information on the area. The rangers always try to redirect you up the road to the larger visitors station, but I do enjoy the quaint viewing tubes for which you can identify Mt Whitney.
