If visiting the El Paso are the quaint town of Mesilla is worth stopping at. Absolutely adorable. Hard to spend a whole day there however. A good morning or afternoon (e.g., 2-3 hrs, probably 4 max). Visit the artisan shops, enjoy a relaxing meal, and there was a artisan market on the Plaza when we were there. We stayed in El Paso and spent time there on our way to the White Sands Natilnal Park. The two were a great way to spend a day.

Attended mass at the old church. They have adoration on Saturday before mass and confession. Very pretty church and a good homily.

Mesilla Plaza is the center point of the old and historic town of Mesilla located next to Las Cruces, New Mexico. Mesilla is known for the Spanish style architecture of its buildings. The plaza is located right across from the Basilica of San Albino and is surrounded by numerous boutique shops and restaurants. Mesilla isn't very big, so you can definitely see the whole historic area in a short amount of time.

The plaza is somewhat plain, but it is highlighted by a gazebo displaying the US and Mexico flags, as well as benches to sit on to take in the sights. While the plaza isn't worth seeing specifically, it is one of the reasons why Mesilla is worth visiting.
