Drive a couple of miles north, hang a right on Shaw and arrive at Fashion Fair. You're less likely to get mugged or hurt there.

Ghetto area. Lots of homeless. Went into Little Ceasars one time and a employee walked in from street and I watched him go straight back and start making pizza without washing his hands. When I mentioned it to the front desk girl, she seemed irritated that I told her

Checkmate bjj is such an awesome gym! My buddies and I were in town for a wedding and needed a place to work out. We reached out to them on Friday evening and we’re allowed to go and spar with the team on Saturday morning. They were super inviting and have some studs that are super eager to roll. I highly recommend anyone in the Fresno area that’s looking for a great BJJ Jim to check this place out!

Got little Caesars from this area. Pizza shop was good service food was fresh and good. But a lot of panhandling going on outside the establishments and some homeless hanging around. Don't mind it. But other's may.
