I visited the Fallbrook Avocado Festival off Main and Alvarado. I think this event is only once a year and also relocated to Carpenteria. It was a must to be among all those tourists with unique items to explore. I arrived at about 2 pm and seemed easier for parking.

Major Market is a local staple, they have an excellent selection of produce, their meats are a lot better than most chain grocery stores and if you need something special, say a whole beef heart they can special order for you. Their vitamin section is well stocked with good brands wether it be average vitamins or vegan or vegetarian. Their wine selection is also pretty extensive, is well labeled and includes some imports. I highly recommend shipping here for produce, meats and anything that a chain grocery does not have, as Major Market probably has it.

Very nice store, great selection, even supplements, oils and herbs, but more expensive because it is not a big chain store. They offer coupon discounts like buy $100 and save $10 with the coupon, even online coupon works for the discount.

I really like this market. It's clean, well stocked and has an interesting selection of unusual items. Most of the produce is fresh and nice, plus the meat department has some really good carne asada.

BEST DEAL IN TOWN! The Major Market deli is a hidden gem in town and has amazing value. I can’t speak for other item comparisons in the store but the deli sandwiches are amazing! $11.99 gets you a huge sub sandwich with Boars Head deli meats. The staff and kitchen is small but mighty so please be patient and courteous to them. They are busy, be kind to them and they will be kind to you. However, checkers in front need some training, not sure what’s going on there. The self check out is nice though. The only reason I didn’t give it five stars is because I’ve been coming to Major Market since the late 90s and while some parts of the store have been updated, the deli and other areas could really use an update as well. I’m sure the employees and regular customers would very much appreciate it, wishful thinking in this economy though. Still, great prices for huge portions on quality ingredients made to order at the Major Market deli!
