I went today asking for a pair of shoes that I already have and is usually sold out. The salesperson told me about the custom order option that I already know of. I then asked about another item that is also usually sold out and it was but sometimes they can have it in store. He then tells me that “they have a lot to teach me”. I think it’s important to remind this person’s role. A salesperson does not teach the customer. The salesperson “serves” the customer and makes sure they get what they want and are “satisfied”. Plus what is there to teach ? Some complicated concept ? I don’t understand condescending salespeople. Are they trying to make people run away because the whole idea is to sell. Too bad not coming back again.

The new store is excellent. It has great selection, amazing interior design and friendly staff. Holland was very friendly and helpful. She helped me find all the items I was looking for and remembered me from two years back. This is the best Loro Piana store in the United States.

Holland at Loro Piana was the sweetest ever! I’ve been trying to find shoes for both me and my boyfriend, and she made the whole process super quick and easy. She totally got our style and found the perfect pairs in no time. On top of that, she even surprised me with a birthday gift, which was soo thoughtful of her to do. Shopping with her was awesome, and I’ll definitely be back. Holland is amazing, and I’m telling everyone I know to go see her!

*I’m not a Karen, this just left me feeling kind of humiliated.
My first experience in this newly located loro piana store was a bit less than pleasant. I went in and what assisted by one on the staff, to which I said I was just browsing at the shoes. I have a pair at home that I felt like could be just a small amount more snug than they are so I wanted to try on a half size down. The woman helping me gave me a shoe that was 4/5 sizes down from the one I came to try on. When I looked at the size I told her this is going to be way too small , (as it is like I said, multiple sizes down from what I can even fit my foot into.) She treated me like I didn’t know what I was talking about, would not get me any higher of a size and told me to just put it on. I was unable to even get the first half of my foot in and I showed her and she said you just need to use a shoe horn, and directed me to one. As I was struggling she said it’s not that it’s too small your just have really wide feet, ( which I don’t, the shoes were just entirely too small) I got to a point that I felt like I was just getting messed with by this staff member. So I thought that if I showed her that I couldn’t get my foot in the shoe that she would believe me and allow me to try on a bigger size. She did not. I then thought that shoving my foot in as hard as I could with my toes balled up like foot binding that she would see how it would (and was) cutting off circulation. So after multiple minutes (yes, it took multiple) of struggling I got it in and it just looked ridiculous, as if you had put shaq in a glass slipper. And as I am showing her expecting her to finally admit she was incorrect and allow me to try on a different size, but she again did not. Instead looked at me and said it was perfect. I really felt like this woman had something against me at this point bc there is no way on earth she meant that looking at the shape of my foot. And I am an average built in my early twenties, with super skinny feet. There was absolutely no other reason besides, they were just multiple sizes too small and anyone could see that even from across the room. I then asked again can I please have a bigger size or even my size and she refused again saying that this was perfect. She started squeezing my foot and my toes and still stood strong on this being “perfect” for me. I was almost in tears at this point and I can’t remember if I had to have help out of the shoe or not, I just left wondering if I was treated this way because i was dressed comfortably , or if because my hair was just thrown up, but if felt like I was being treated differently than the other clients there. . I’m not sure if I will be returning to this location or not, which is a shame as I was really looking forward to the opening of this location.
