I very recently finished a year long home remodel project. I contracted with Imperial to build and install my kitchen cabinets and master bath vanity. Working with Art and his team was a pleasure and the finished product certainly is the standout feature of the entire project.
Imperial stood out to me for their professionalism, for the quality of their work and for their customer service focus. They by far provided the highest quality of work of any trade vendor I used in my renovation project.

From the accommodating team in the front of the office to the designers and installers it was always a positive experience working with them.

Imperial accommodated design changes and always provided drawing revisions and updates in timely manner. In a overall home renovation project that was fraught with delays and missed deadlines by other trade vendors Imperial could always be counted on to come in on time.

One example of how great they were to work with was what happened after the initial cabinet installation. I didn’t like the way the crown molding was done even though Art and the contractor i worked with assured me that it was the best method. Rather than arguing about it Art sent one of his finish guys out to fix it to my liking. I recall it took at least 2 days to complete those changes. There was no additional charge for the work that Jesús did was exceptional.
Another example of going what i considered above and beyond, at the end of the project Art sent someone out to touch up anything that was nicked up during the appliance install or during the last stages of the project. There were a couple small scuffs and a piece of crown molding to be painted. I figured it would be an hour or so of work. But Marco spent the entire day touching up and buffing and inspecting every inch of the cabinets. It was an impressive display of people who care about their work and care about the customer’s experience.
I could not provide a stronger recommendation for Imperial Custom Cabinets and for Art and his great team. It was a pleasure working with them from start to finish.

We first engaged Imperial Custom Cabinets in early 2017 to provide the cabinetry for the kitchen of our condo in downtown San Diego. The quality of work was outstanding, and we truly appreciated the work of the team from design to installation.

Our connection continued over the years as we came to discover that a few people I worked with had worked with Art and the team before joining the fire department. As time moved on, our son also worked there for about a year after he saw the company name in one of the drawers and reached out to see if they were hiring.

Fast forward to 2023 and we were doing a complete remodel of a different downtown condo. There was no question as to who would make the cabinets. Once again, Art and the team came together to help us design the cabinetry for two bathrooms, the kitchen, and a bar area. They then moved onto the building of the cabinets and installation in coordination with the timeline we were on with our general contractor.

Once again, we were thrilled with the look and some of the customizations that were included, such as the hands-free opening of the trash cabinet and the upswing door concealing the microwave.

The overall experience from working with the office staff, the estimator, Art, and the installation team was another outstanding experience.

Rod and Art were great to work with. They communicated well with us and our contractor. They even beat their initial expected installation date. (Which was amazing) The quality of work is fantastic and there was great attention to detail.

I’m giving this company a one star, not based off of their workmanship, but based off of the customer service. I called to ask for an estimate to replace kitchen cabinets and countertops in a unit at one of the apartment complexes I oversee. The lady that answered the phone (didn’t get her name) wasn’t helpful at all. When I advised her what we needed, she didn’t seem to be in the mood to answer any questions or provide any information. When I told her that I was calling on behalf of an apartment complex she stated, “We’re a higher end company and only do higher end jobs.” So presumptuous of her to assume that an apartment complex would not have the budget to meet the expense of a “high end company/job.”

Imperial Custom Cabinets is a phenomenal company to work with. I selected them to complete a kitchen remodel and a laundry room facelift. I moonlighted as the general contractor.

Greg was so kind and patient as he guided me along and helped me make my vision come true. I showed him all my favorite design ideas and we melded them together to create my dream kitchen. I pinch myself every time I walk into the room.

Art designed the vision and was easy to work with via email and by phone. He was prompt at getting back to me and eased my overly worried brain. He was kind answering questions and made scheduling a breeze. I appreciated their timeliness and when we scheduled an appointment, I was never disappointed.

Rod installed the kitchen over the span of three days and he was prompt, tidy, kind, and trustworthy. I wanted to be best friends with him by the time he finished up.

Isak helped with installation and he installed the hardware. Isak did an amazing job. His eye for detail was impressive.

Corine was so helpful in guiding my color choices. I used her recommendation for both my cabinets and the walls and could not be happier.

A few other gentleman from the company helped my vision come true. Everyone was prompt, kind, trustworthy and easy to work with. Emails were answered promptly, the timeline was amazing- faster than I expected, and I felt like I had the Nordstrom experience in cabinetry.

I would recommend this company to anyone looking for a magical remodel, or even a regular remodel. It all feels bittersweet- I am so happy to wrap this up, but I am going to miss working with Art and his team.

I am already plotting and planning for the next thing I can spruce up so I can work with Imperial Custom Cabinets again.

After researching for years and dreaming for many more, ideas have culminated into plans and decisions have been made. Ready to start our kitchen project, we located a few cabinet makers in our area but found only one that has been in business for many decades. So, we had a good feeling about them right away. We stopped by Imperial Custom Cabinets early one morning and was treated to our first lesson in custom cabinets 101. Armed with our questions, Corine not only supplied the answers she also had samples at the ready. In their showroom kitchen, Corine welcomed us to interact with the variety of kitchen features and options they provide. She was always available to me throughout the entire project to provide the pros & cons of the many decisions ahead of us. Somewhat overwhelmed with choices, Corine knew that once Rod was scheduled to visit our home, all would begin to fall into place. Well, that visit turned out to be just what we needed to begin the process. In short order, like he could do it in his sleep, Rod took measurements and made drawings to take back to the office. We were reluctant to share our amateur drawings, so Rod transferred our ideas to his paperwork. What is unique about our kitchen plan is we didn't want any upper cabinets. Leaning on his expert opinion, we gladly changed some of our details. We did receive estimates from other cabinet makers but were careful to consider more than just price. A large commitment like this also requires confidence in the people as well as the product. Thank goodness we selected Imperial Custom Cabinets. It was the best decision we made. Art emailed the detailed drawings and specifications, illustrating the communication from us to Rod to Art was spot on. We chose timeless Shaker cabinets with a very natural satin clear coat on Alder. It will hold it's beauty over time. Our cabinet delivery came on time as promised. Martin and Zaire carefully placed all the components right in the intended footprint. After inspecting our new cabinets, it also became apparent their custom cabinet makers back in the shop are the best in the business. We also discovered that although we communicated we were fine with having a seam on our island; Art was not. He knew covering that seam on both sides with beautiful Alder sheets would display the high standards at Imperial Custom Cabinets. Over the next two days we had the pleasure of Marco assigned to do our install. We could spend a lot of time here singing his praises. The consummate craftsman, every element of the install could not have gone better. He gained our trust immediately with his ability and work ethic. Now comes Marco #2. He's their 'touch up guy' (painter). May as well call him 'quality control' too! We have never seen an individual, or company for that matter, go to such lengths to ensure the perfection of the final product. FLAWLESS.
