5 stars in terms of delivering on what it is: an old historic hotel with smallish rooms that are well maintained in an excellent location. Several areas on second floor to read or socialize. Almost a B&B vibe. Walls are thin, so white noise generator is helpful. Right on the historic square. We picked it so we could easily walk around town as well as have a short drive to Taos Ski Area (1/2 hour). Pro tip - if you've got a lot of gear, unload your car in the front first on a trolley and then drive around back to park.

What a gorgeous and historical hotel! Spectacularly set on the old town plaza, the hotel is within walking distance of many shops, bars, and restaurants. They hosted local vendors in the lobby on Saturday, which was really fun. There is a coffee shop in front, so breakfast is fast and easy for getting out skiing early, and a bar and a restaurant that is open in evenings on site. The rooms are small, as you would expect for this old of an establishment, but are charming and fully functional. There is not a pool.

We stayed over the Christmas holiday and enjoyed it very much. Our room was essentially a small apartment with two rooms, a sink, microwave, and a haunted coffee maker (it turned on by itself and started boiling water). The bed was super comfy, enough heaters and blankets to last a nuclear winter, and the bathroom was clean with a shallow bathtub. Bed was super comfy with a gorgeous quilt, the walls are kind of thin so expect to hear conversations.The room had a built in enclosed fireplace with a set timer. We had no view on our side so nothing to report there. The service was great, the hotel was decked out and festive and the cafe was open on Christmas. The lounges are nice and it was great to see people using the space. The ding of one star only comes from the restaurant not being open during our stay, which is great folks got to be with their families but had I not gotten tamales on the way into town Christmas would have been a bummer good wise. I was really hoping to have a fancy dinner with my girlfriend there on Christmas Eve. Regardless, this historic hotel is ideally situated, we could walk anywhere in town easily day or night. It really felt like a privilege to experience this hotel. And we are really thankful for the Inn keeper who was there day and night with a smile.

Great place to step back in time with authentically neat rooms and cool amenities. In room fireplace didn’t work or would have rated higher. Plaza balcony is neat. Cool area of town. Great service and very neat atmosphere.

If you're looking for clean historic in a great location, this is the place for you. It's quaint, clean, and comfortable... but if you're looking for a spacious room or a reading chair that isn't in the shared lounge, it might not be the place for you. We've loved our time here and have enjoyed gathering with family in the balcony lounge.

We went into the Hotel to check it out and warm up on a beautiful fall day! We went to the bar and ended up having an absolutely amazing experience! Maria was the owner of the bar and restaurant and we had a Fabulous Pour over Mexican Coffee with special ingredients from Maria! We had such a lovely conversation with her and she made our day! We would love to come back and eat in the lovely natural ingredients restaurant!

Positive: The location Negative: I reserved a king suite with a sofa queen bed but I got two rooms with queen size beds. We had no place to sit. The room is in desperate need of a remodel. The walls had white spackle on them and the beige paint looked like it hadn?t been painted in a bit
