I really wasn’t expecting much, I just needed to kill some time and wow this museum blew me away. It’s really thoughtfully laid out, the staff was really helpful and attentive, and I learned so much! I left with such an appreciation for not only the town of Clayton but also allll of the stories and families that are represented in the museum. If you need to get out while you’re driving through Clayton, I highly recommend stopping here and walking around! It’s free, but you should really consider leaving a donation so they can continue.

Awesome information from the museum docent. She was very kind and shared info on artifacts as well as building. She even suggested events happening in town and recommend restaurants. Clayton was beautiful and will always remember Capulin Volcano, Dino tracks, and good hospitality despite of a few folks in town being racist. It's OK because my children also need to learn that this also exists. Being a New Mexico resident all of my life if anyone out of town should ever need anything and is visiting I am here to help or assist in any way. Regardless of your race, gender, religion. This is what my parents taught me. Loved Clayton and will be back.

I brought a group of RVers here. Charles was our tour guide, he was great! The museum was free but they ask for donations to keep it going. Everyone loved it. I finally found out what broom corn was.
