Felt very taken advantage of despite the owner being very friendly and personable. Tried this shop from good reviews and a friends suggestion. Went in for repair of water pump and then had to take it back 3 times with major leaks including original areas he had worked on. But coolant was emptying out so I tried to trust him to resolve it. Each time he sounded like the issue should be covered under the original repair and each time he pulled car apart and then told me the 'new' issue was not covered and that my car was undrivable until I paid for another $400 or so repair. Nice guy but couldn't stand the bad quality work and lack of accountability.

Follow up response a few weeks after work done:
Well seems that at least after all that money that the cooling is probably working, but my car is now ~toast. Head gasket blown. Did that happen before hand or when my radiator emptied after it leaked past my thermostat that he had just replaced? Can't prove it... so it's my problem, but my car was ok just needed water pump replaced, and now it's dead.

So to finish off this, reviewers you can have mull over these facts
from our story and you can decide if it got suckered or just have bad attitude. But yes I regret ever taking my car there.

Fact: He suggested I replace thermostat. I agreed.
Fact: 2 days later with small driving = trouble light that he told me should be fine/not urgent. Turns out it leaked so bad from that spot (after he claims he leak checked it post repair) that the radiator emptied. But no refund for that thermostat 'repair', rather was told he couldn't return the thermostat and I had already accepted that repair so it was my problem. And I was told my car was already pulled apart and undrivable and had to have him replace the whole thermostat housing replaced now before I could drive my car (yes including thermostat, and so yes I had to 'authorize' to pay for thermostat twice because car was apart and he didn't own up to it or leak check it the first time).

If you are looking for an honest auto repair shop that does great work, with excellent customer service, look no further. The owner, Martin, makes you feel like a long lost friend on your first visit.
He is super knowledgeable and has great customer service skills. My first visit (shortly after moving to Green Valley) was just an oil change. I waited in the (awesome) waiting room and watched in awe how he treated every customer that came in. He was personable and took time to explain every detail.

When my son came to visit a few months later I realized his vehicle needed a lot of maintenance work. Martin got him in on short notice and did a great job. I am the type that likes to shop around for the best deal. That wont be the case for auto repair and maintenance - Green Valley Automotive has a customer for life. If I could give more than 5 stars I would.

First, a personal note:

I originally gave Green Valley Automotive 5-stars because Martin, the owner, is a really nice and personable guy. But "nice and personable" doesn't mean "good mechanic." I have changed my rating to a 1-star. Read on and you'll see why.

"It's a great truck. You should buy it."
-- Martin, owner of Green Valley Automotive

I took a used truck into Green Valley Automotive (GVA) I was thinking of buying and asked Martin (owner of GVA) to check it out and let me know whether the truck was in good shape and a good buy, or if it was a piece of junk needing lots of repairs. Friendly and personable, Martin and I shared some stories and legends about lost gold and treasures in nearby Madera Canyon and mountains. It was fun listening to him tell me stories, and I felt confident his experience and vehicle evaluation would "steer me right." He also made me promise I would take the truck into his shop if it needed service (*important note*) So, I took his advice and bought the used Ford F250 truck from the owner. I was happy as I drove off in my new truck. However, my happiness only lasted a few days.

Over $3,800 in repairs and counting

After buying the truck, I almost immediately started having engine problems. Less than a week after buying it, Martin suggested I bring the truck in and he'd "have another look at it." That was the beginning of it needing more and more repairs. After multiple visits and thousands of dollars paid to his shop, I finally complained to Martin about him telling me the truck was in good mechanical condition and that I should buy it.

"That's what happens when you buy a used truck."
-- Martin, owner of Green Valley Automotive

What?! I took the truck into him for a mechanical evaluation and analysis on whether it was a good buy or not, and he told me, "it's a great truck. You should buy it." Everyone can be wrong but this was way beyond wrong.

The truck was in terrible shape.

I've spent over $10k to buy and repair the truck. I'm constantly afraid the truck will just stop working while I'm driving it. I've had the truck towed, jump started, and overheat. I've had constant oil, transmission, and other fluids drip all over my driveway. And the repairs aren't finished yet: the transmission leak needs to be fixed, as does the oil leak (the oil pan has the *wrong* drain plug which I found out about at a *different* repair shop), the truck vibrates at 70 mph, and Martin said the catalytic converter probably needs to be replaced (over $2,500 to replace.)

"Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me."

I've come to the realization I'm a sucker for listening to Martin's advice to buy the truck. And I was a sucker for taking it to be fixed at his shop, again and again. I've been told you should get a used vehicle checked out by a mechanic before buying it. Well, I did that and regret it. If I repaired everything Martin told me needed to be fixed, it would cost me *more* than the cost of the truck. And I've had the truck less than a year.

"Anyone want to buy a Ford F250? Got one for sale, cheap."

Very poor communication. I stopped in to have my battery checked, and was told they would check it out and let me know. He went to my car & left me in the waiting room. 15 minutes later I went looking for him. A mechanic told me he had left to take someone home.
