The Gadsden Museum of Art is a creative, crisp, supportive space for visual and performance artists, conveniently located on Broad Street, in the historic business district of the "City of Champions."

Host to multiple exhibitions throughout the year, GMA showcases a wide variety of artists and their work, e.g. two dimensional work, sculpture, textiles, digital media, ceramics, etc.

Attached are photographs of an exhibit by Sheri Shumacher, an Alabama artist and former architecture professor and someone I greatly admire.

The Gadsden Museum of Art and History is a great place to visit. The art galleries always have interesting and creative exhibits and the history section has a wonderful look into the story that is Gadsden. The staff has done a wonderful job adding some new displays recently. Don't miss this place if you are traveling through Etowah County.

The current exhibit on the first floor is totally inappropriate for families and especially children in our families opinion. Thought I was going to show my kids some good art, but instead we left quickly and apologized to our children for accidently subjecting them to grotesque and almost demonic artwork that shocked even my wife and I. Even if it would have just been my wife and I, we would have been basically horrified. I am sure the exhibits change over time but this one was terrible in October of 2023.
