Flub's Ice Cream - Hamilton, Ohio

I have to say it: Flubs is the best ice cream shop in existence. Not just in Hamilton (or Ross or Fairfield). Not just in Ohio. I’m talking universally legendary (and as a part-time traveler I know nothing beats this place).

When in town to visit family I’ve always had to visit Flub’s too. Just by going to the place you know that it’s family run and and there’s always familiar employee faces and you can easily feel the love in every cone of sherbet you get (the blue is the best). Flub’s has the nostalgic, small-town charm. You’re not getting any franchise vibes because this is a family run, generational business providing quality community care, in the form of a soft serve.

Flub’s Cyclones? OMG, LIFE CHANGING. My personal favorite is their #36 which is the peanut butter Oreo…I’ll recommend it again and again :).

HUGE shoutout to the employees they are always so friendly. They put a smile on my face and my family's. They know how to do business and deal with the craziness of those summer rushes.

If you're from the area, you know how Flub’s is a core memory. And if you’re not? It’s seriously worth the road trip.

This is the second weekend we went to Flubs for Ice Cream late evening. I was pleased with the ice cream I got in a waffle Cone which was Pineapple flavored. My family were 4 people - I was the only one who had an accurate size serving. The reddish haired young guy serving us apologized before we even tasted it. I wasn't sure why. My Daughter said that the portions for the other 3 people were VERY VERY small. A small cup looked like a toaster size. My Granddaughter literally finished hers in 3 bites which was very disappointing. I was the last to finish my cone and I honestly should have bought second vines for the other 3 people. But my total was $15.70. The price would have been no consideration if the portions were consistently similar to last week. The young guy serving me apologized for drowning my pineapple soft serve with crunchies in a Very LARGE amount.
From where we "sat" it looked like these kids working had very little training and they were all winging it

Old School attentive, caring staff. Employees clean and delightful. She loaded up my grandsons blue ice cream sundae with extra rainbow sprinkles. He still talks about how amazing it was. My wife asked for extra caramel on her Sundae. Employee? She smiled and loaded it up. Little things matter, especially these days. Prices? I found pricing totally reasonable. Keep it up, your service matters. Giving a 9 yr old grandson a smile? Priceless.

Bring your kids, dogs, and extended family. This is quality ice cream with options for every person’s palate.
If you’re dairy free, no problem. There’s multiple options.

Always accurate, delicious and speedy! There’s often a line because they’re so good but they move quickly! This is our summer go-to for great ice-cream!!

This place is fantastic their ice cream is very good the service is always phenomenal they have over 40 different types of cyclones and parfaits and the price is reasonable but I have to mention the ice cream sandwiches I have a sick addiction I wish the price was lower per dozen

Flubs is a great local soft serve spot! The prices are getting a little more expensive but thats everywhere now. Our orders have always been made correctly and no matter how long the line is, we've never waited more than 5 minutes!

There's a few picnic tables around the property to sit at but no washroom.

Ice cream was good but I ordered a girl scout cookie cyclone and all I got was mint syrup and chocolate dip top no cookies at all . They on put all the toppings at the top and I got just plain vanilla! I will be coming back but never want to get this again !

Now I know in going to catch flack from my Hamilton fans on this one but Flub’s is just ok. The traditional zebra cone is what I got and the ice cream was hard and the chocolate needs more flavor. My cone has a gangster lean to it and was melting quicker than the wicked witch splashed with water. Overall it was 12th in our top 20. I recommend trying it and forming your own opinion and support the small soft serve businesses.

I've only been there twice and ordered a milkshake both times, the first one was good, but the second one had something that was certainly not supposed to be in a milk shake. Like a hard yellow rock. Absolutely disgusting. Just go to UDF, been there countless times for a milkshake and never had that happen.
