The LA Fashion District, while often hailed as a shopper’s paradise, left much to be desired during my visit. The area is undeniably grungy, with a significant homeless population that adds to the overall sense of discomfort. The smell of urine permeates the streets, making it hard to enjoy the experience. As for the shops, they all seem to offer the same products, with little variety or uniqueness to be found. It’s frustrating to see rows of stores that all look and feel identical. Adding to the inconvenience, you even have to pay just to use the restroom—a basic amenity that should be more accessible. Overall, the environment is far from aesthetically pleasing, and the entire experience feels more like a chore than an enjoyable outing. If you're seeking a pleasant shopping experience, the LA Fashion District might not be the place for you.

I enjoyed my time learning the lay of the land of the Fashion District. It is huge. I plan to visit every time I go to LA and pick up pieces that I saw but didn’t purchase. Start on Santee Alley.

We had our wallet stolen in this area. The thief tried to spent hundreds of dollars using our credit cards. We found out right away but it was too late. Definitely be extra cautious when you walk around the area! We’ll never return to this area

Where to begin! Gritty and authentic. Best of kind of shopping.

Prepare to spend hours exploring the overflowing warehouse stores, bargaining at the wholesale marts, and unearthing vintage treasures. The sensory overload is half the fun. While not glamorous, the Fashion District delivers serious thrills for trendsetters and deal hunters alike. Bring comfy shoes and an empty trunk!

Something to see and do if unfamiliar with what it is. It is LA and pretty rough parts of town. However it was fun to take the kids and show them the streets lined with wholesalers.
