Great stock of Marklin trains. Owner is knowledgeable and very helpful. I was able to get very unique pieces to gift my father for his collection, and any pieces not currently in stock he was able to special order for me.

I ordered from this vendor after finding they had the best price around. Although their website said they had my items in stock, they actually had to order them; however, I found the owner to be responsive on email and they had my items to me within a week. Others have reported communication issues, but I had a good experience and am happy with my purchase.

You can tell from these reviews that this is, indeed, a guy trying to run a business out of his garage. In my experience, he seems to like the idea of taking your money but seems completely uninterested in the other obligation of running a business- customer service. As others have written, communicating with him is difficult. Sometimes he replies and sometimes he doesn’t and despite what he says it doesn’t matter whether you use “chat” or email. He just doesn’t seem to care or be paying attention to much other than taking your money. Two orders ago: I placed my order, was charged immediately, received a confirmation email and actual tracking number a day or two later. Sounds good, right? But after trying to track the package for over a week and finding no evidence that it was mailed I wrote to him asking him about it. I didn’t receive a reply but the package was actually dropped at a post office the next day. It’s like he fell asleep with the shipping box under his desk. This next story, though, was the final straw. A follow-up order was delivered damaged. It is an expensive locomotive and came out of the packing material with broken parts. I immediately took pictures, emailed them to him and then waited. And waited. After repeated prods and numerous follow-up emails (most were ignored) he finally told me I would have to ship the locomotive back to him. And pay for shipping it! He would then send it to the manufacturer for repairs. Can you imagine this? You spend good money on an item that should arrive in perfect (collector-ready) condition and are then told it needs to be sent out for some indeterminate period to see if it can be repaired. And I have to pay for this process in shipping cost, indefinite waiting time, and no guarantee than anything will actually be repaired. I have had exactly this situation arise with other reputable online sellers and they ALWAYS offer a choice between either 1) Immediate exchange for a replacement or 2) Some kind of cash compensation. Not this guy. It doesn’t even occur to him that he has a commitment to his customers and that nasty, aggressive or absent communication is not a respectable way to do business. Stay away. There are much better, customer-focused retailers out there.

I bought a used NOCH layout from Euro Model Trains. Michael, the owner, could not have been better in his support and quick responses to e-mails. First off, the price for what I was getting was reasonable, not something I usually associate with Märklin. We did have some hiccups with delivery in which 2 engines were damaged. Michael immediately sent me labels and packing material to have the two digital engines repaired at his cost with a Märklin service center in California - no questions asked. He was also quick to answer technical questions when he could, and when he didn't have the answer, he put me in touch with a Märklin club in my area.

I'm thrilled with Michael and Euro Model Trains and have already bought another engine from him. I'll gladly give him my business in the future. Top marks for them.

Michael at Euro Model Trains has been a real pleasure to work with. His quick responses to what seemed like endless questions sold me on utilizing his store to purchase my new layout. As my order contained some larger items that can be easily damaged in shipping he arranged for Sal to personally deliver them to my house in Virginia. Now the fun begins of setting up and running the trains. I expect Euro Model Trains will be my first source when looking at future purchases.

Placed an order on January 4th. Sent two email requests for order/shipping status. After a week no response. I believe this is a very small business, and I like to support small businesses, but suggest you look elsewhere. They just don't communicate. Cancelled the order and had to place a dispute with the credit card company. Very inconvenient.
