I walked in by pure chance today, I live almost two hours away and it was THE best thing that could have happened!
The owner is incredibly kind and knowledgeable, you can tell that he is very passionate about what he does.
I found so many classic books and DVD’s that I’ve been looking for, now I can watch Charlotte’s Web with my daughter without having to rent on some random streaming service!

I’m so excited to visit Paris again based solely on this experience (and their awesome DMV employees)

Please don’t confuse this place with the national chain Half Price Books. Those stores are large, clean, and well-organized. This particular shop in Paris is none of those. I like musty old book shops but even I was repelled by this place. It is nasty, disorganized, and cramped. There is one very narrow walk way through the tottering stacks of old paperbacks. It smelled like rats. I’m not a germophobe, but this place was so nasty that I was leary of touching anything. I was in and out in about 2 minutes, if I even stayed that long. I was also put-off by the dirty old recliner and blanket near the back door. It was a very uncomfortable atmosphere. I don’t see how this place passes the city fire inspection. It’s too bad so many people here are giving great reviews for Half Price Books without realizing they’re reviewing the wrong place. It’s also too bad the store owner does nothing to correct the confusion.

"I'm absolutely delighted with this book store! The moment I stepped inside, I felt like I'd entered a bibliophile's paradise. The shelves are stacked high with a vast array of titles, The owner is extremely knowledgeable and passionate about books, always happy to offer recommendations or help you find that elusive title. I love the atmosphere of the store, it is not modern but if you love the smell of printer’s ink. You will love this store . Five stars isn't enough – I'd give it ten stars if I could!"

There is nothing like walking into a book store that cares about what they offer. Rare books; hard to find books AND DVDs? This place is heaven for a nerd like me. Don’t know why the rude person says it stinks, it smells like a library! I highly recommend this store, you won’t regret it! And make sure you meet the owner, he’s truly one of the kindest people I know!

As soon as you walk inside, the nasty smell hits you. It’s really gross and I literally felt like I was in a Hoarders episode. There are just piles of books and cds and records EVERYWHERE. No organization whatsoever. My husband couldn’t even walk past the front because it’s so tightly packed in there. I ventured inwards a little until I realized the floors were littered with crumbs, scraps, dirt and dead bugs. There were also old food containers thrown on the dirty piles of junk. I was too scared to touch anything. Just about everything in there was moldy. We were told records were $4 a piece and then I go to pay and the guy charged $5 a piece instead and if there were two vinyls in an album, he charged $10. We bought stuff because we didn’t want to be rude and tried giving it a chance. The guy seemed nice but we felt like we were ripped off and we had to wash our hands immediately after. I do not recommend this place at all. I’m surprised it’s even still open because there were definitely some safety violations.

This place is FANTASTIC! It’s one of the only remaining bookstores left in North Texas and the owner has an encyclopedic knowledge of movies and pop culture. The store is chock full of treasures including both vhs tapes, dvds, books, comics, and music (including vinyl). I try to stop in regularly to check on new things and catch up with the owner. There is not another store in Paris that is this fun! Run don’t walk to this institution!

Entire process was seamless thru Ebay. The item I bought was even better than I thought it would be. Rich was very friendly and as it turned out, we have several friends in common. If you are looking for the different and unusual, this is a good place to start.
