This shopping center has a nice sized 99 cents store and a dd's Discount store as well as a Carl's Juniors and others. The center could use some cleaning up and some security guards to make shopping there a more pleasant experience.

Being on a very tight budget I frequently shop at the 99Cents Only store. Fantastic bargains. They have General Mills Peanut Butter Chocolate Blasted Shreds & another cereal that resembles Cocoa Puffs at 25 cents. They also have Quaker instant oatmeal coconut & caramel flavor at the same price. Probably will be gone in a few days. Great examples of why I love shopping at this store.

Parking lot is always dirty, full of trash and dirty diapers. I wouldn't recommend to anybody. Sidewalks are disgusting. The surrounding businesses should take pride in their area. Obviously, they do not because the inside of the stores look as bad as the dirty parking areas. I suggest a broom, dustpan, and a mop for starters.

Right on the S.E. corners of First St. & McKinley Ave. is a Popeye's Chicken restaurant which IMHO is the best place in the Fresno/Clovis area for fast food chicken.
Just South of of Popeye's is a Carl's Jr. Green Burrito. Which again IMHO is one of the better burger joints in the area.
Also note worthy in the Dry Creek shopping center is a D.D.'s Discounts & a $.99 Cent store on the South strip. On the East strip, is a mom & pop's pizza joint, a pre-school, a liquor & cigarette store, a bakery & Chinese takeout.
A canal divides about 1/5th of the Northern portion of the property. The West side is where Popeye's sits with a very good donut shop on the East right on McKinley. The property where this shopping bonanza exists has been slowly deteriorating for a good 10 years now. There are 2 entrance/Egress' on First Ave but only one on McKinley avenue due to the canal which makes for poor traffic handling conditions. Despite it's short comings this center still serves a good portion of the public.
If you don't mind the lack of a drive thru at Popeye's & a small bottleneck sometimes over the canal it's a decent area to get a meal and do some quick shopping.

No shopping cart or basket available. Used my shopping bag to carry everything. While cashier looking at me emptying items onto counter. She asked if i needed a bag?
I left 2 bags ontop of items, i said i have 2 . She moved them, then didn't bag them. I asked if this was a self sevice? She replied that i didn't want a bag. I bagged my own . I'm a disabled senior. Bad service at the 99 cent store.

This center, on the southeast corner of N First St and E McKinley Ave, is an aging but rather well kept and managed L-shaped strip center of medium-large size. It opened in the mid 70's with two substantial anchors (Save Mart Grocery and Pay Less Drug and Department store) and enjoyed very good traffic and sales for only about 15 years and has alternated between decline and/or stagnation ever since. It is, however, reasonably well-managed and, besides the L-shaped retail spaces, features stand-alone retailers Burger King, Popeye's Chicken (just closed) and a local independent doughnut shop. Currently, the two fairly stable anchors are "Di Di's Discounts" store and a fairly decent "99 Cents Only", both of which are above-average and fairly large stores. I have come to really like Di Di's Discounts for their large clothing and accessories inventory plus just about anything else one would ever need around the house (or has been featured "As Seen on TV") Great place to buy gifts, toys, personal electronics, household gadgets and more. The 99 Cent store has a large grocery selection and, though for some reason the store departed from strictly offering items priced at $.99 and now offers higher value items in the $2.99 to $12.99 range, all the items are still a very good value and less expensive than is commonly available at regular retailers. One thing is for certain, without Di Di's and .99 Cent anchors, the Dry Creek Center would soon run completely dry -- as in no business and certain closure.
