We are climbers and the access to Alabama hills is great. The breeze is always nice here and it’s never crowded. We had some bug problems when we stayed near the water but they have spots away from the water and they worked out great for us. It’s very affordable and quiet. Also the view is incredible and the stars at night are stunning.

Very nice campground. Beautiful lake and amazing views. Close to Alabama Hills. The only drawbacks were a few times people rode through the campground on ATVs (against the rules, there are riding trails out the back gate) and ants. So many ants! But that's the outdoors.

ATVs and unlicensed dirt bikes are NOT to be used within the campground (there's a large separate area out back for that), but irresponsible parents and their children use the campground like a race track on the weekends with motorcycles and ATVs running rampant passing campsites hundreds of times disturbing everyone for the benefit of a few people who aren't obeying the rules. No/very limited enforcement by the park. Ruins the camping experience.
The parks department should do a better job controlling the unruly parents and children however they can. On the busy weekends It's like a people zoo with fireworks ATVs and motorcycles. Parks department and police were notified and responded but didn't really seem to help.

This spot is great, sites are large and clean. There are a lot of spots so for us there was no issue on finding a spot. No hook ups but there are water spigots around. Was a bit windy when we were there but the breeze off the lake kept it pleasant! We back up right against the lake and did some fishing. Don’t forget to bring your bug spray too! There’s a small playground for kids to play on. Would recommend!

Camped there with our small travel trailer. No hookups, water close by. Did not try the pit toilets. Views of the lake and mountains were wonderful. It was buggy at night, be prepared. Sites themselves are so so, not always level or clean.

The lake and view were nice, but the sites were cramped and there wasn't much privacy or solice. It was kind of a weird place to have a campground to be honest, right off the highway. Also, I stayed here on a Memorial Day weekend and it was a complete free for all. No law enforcement or campground host to clean up or enforce the rules. Our neighbors were setting off firecrackers, there was trash EVERYWHERE, no water, and we couldn't even use the toilet because it was overflowing with human waste! Most disgusting campground I've ever stayed at. It has potential, but the place is very poorly managed. Whoever runs this place clearly only cares about money and could care less about their guests. Stay literally anywhere else.

Beautiful small campground with gorgeous trees looking right out at some fantastic colorful mountains. Many of the spots are close together, but quite a few are not. It's nice and flat so you can ride your bicycle around. The day I visited, there was a stiff wind coming from the west. Because it was in September, the campground was pretty empty so I could have chosen a site that was more protected, quiet, and very scenic. And right here in the incredible Eastern Sierra!

Nice location as we exited Death Valley National Park. $14 for boondocking seems high though. It is lovely, but there was quite a bit of noise from locals coming in to party. We stayed in the first area away from the main RV parking and it was nice except for the constant cars coming to party.....I think the presence of a large rig in that area spoiled their plans. A county park worker showed up in the morning to ask where our ticket was.... You pay with a credit card as you enter and get a ticket. We didn't use the bathrooms so.cant report on them. Lots of road noise.
