The decor was excellent and my room smelled lovely when I got there. I also really liked the cafeteria area. They offer free coffee in the morning (GOOD coffee with cream if you want it) and it was a nice way to meet the owners and other guests. They also offer a full breakfast for $15 which I did not try, but the menu looked fabulous. One last thing I would note is that they sell cute items from local artists / artisans in the lobby.

Overall it's a bit pricey but well worth it if you are looking for a cozy, clean, good-vibes place to stay.

If you're looking for a romantic getaway, Desert Flower Boutique Hotel is a hidden gem! Surrounded by stunning hiking spots, with activities like horseback riding, kayaking, and water drifting, you'll never be bored. The hotel itself is a dream – the Xochitl room was spotless and so relaxing, The room features a copper tub, and the water comes from a deep aquifer well, filtered and fresh for an extra touch of luxury.

The service was outstanding – we requested wine in the room, and it was absolutely delicious, adding a perfect touch to our experience! Their breakfast was also amazing especially the muffins (seriously, try the muffins!).

This place is perfect for couples, friends and family looking for a peaceful retreat, and I can't recommend it enough. The owners are lovely, and every detail was on point. Definitely a must-stay!

We stayed at the Desert Flower for a long weekend. It was delightful and comfortable. There were two comfortable chairs (often there is only one) in the room and it was quiet. The hosts were friendly and the breakfast was delicious. It’s conveniently located just outside of Taos with easy access to many things. I’d certainly recommend it!

I visited during the shoulder season, so breakfast was not offered, but coffee and tea was. I really liked the coffee, it didn't wire me out. The room was a delight. I stayed in Encanto for 2 nights. It was clean and peaceful. The copper tub was an amazing experience. Much to my surprise, it held the heat for as long as I wanted to laze in it, so good for at least a 2 hour hot soak. The room was clean and beautiful; the king bed was comfortable, with plenty of pillows and blankets. One of my favorite parts of the stay was hearing the roosters crow at first light. The hotel is at the south end of town, away from the bustle of the city, but just a quick drive from the plaza. Every thimg I needed for my short stay. I'd definitely stay there again.

My fiancé and I stayed back in June 2023... and well... I think it's a pretty good sign that I can still give this place such a glowing review long after being there. The owners were great hosts and provided for a great and cozy stay. The labor they put in to the hotel really shows in the quality of the rooms and the service. Of course, if that stuff wasn't good, Xochitl's breakfast would do more than just make up for it! Especially her chilaquiles and the fresh muffins she makes (they were a great treat to have after summiting Wheeler Peak nearby).

We stayed in the XOCHITL room (if I remember correctly). The copper tub was great to soak in after an arduous summiting of Wheeler Peak (and a mountaintop proposal to my fiancé)!

The Taos area is very special to my fiancé and I and we both hope to stay at the Desert Flower next time we visit!

Room wasn't as advertised... Pictures were definitely taken strategically to seem a little bigger, I think. Also, the lighting was a little odd. One dim light for the entire room and wasn't in the bedroom portion, it was over the bathtub. Also, I did see a little roach in the bathroom but it's the desert and I didn't think much of it. Bugs happen. Parking was sort of inconvenient. Also, the front desk was practically unreachable the majority of our time there. All of this being said, it was a pretty good stay. Bathtub was beyond amazing and the water was so hot!! Breakfast was delightful and the muffins were definitely worth all of the hype. The view is also lovely, but it is literally right off the road so it can be a little loud (but they provide earplugs which is nice) I don't think I would've stayed more than one night, but it was good for passing through.

Thoroughly enjoyed the vibe and the service. Our (wife & I) stay was smooth, the room had a very interesting painting by a local artist, especially enjoyed the tub and decor. The owner was very polite, accommodating and personable, we enjoyed chatting with everyone. Very comfortable, lovely accomodations. Thank you!

Loved our stay, and love that each room is unique. The owners are extremely helpful and gracious, and their breakfast was delicious! We ordered the same thing both mornings. We will be back, and highly recommend to anyone traveling through!
