This is the best gold mine I experienced so far in 14 years of residency in Alaska. The buildings are so well maintained, like walking into history, lots of information and facts. Staff and residents are very welcoming and friendly and helpful, and they are nestled away in the serenity. Gold panning was such a great experience with my twins that we will be visiting every year. Camping and optional dry cabins for rent nightly great place!!!

The flowers and scenery were gorgeous. We loved walking around the grounds and taking a trip back in time. I would definitely come again! We didn't pan for gold but saw several people doing it. It's worth the trip just for the flowers.

This was a very fun experience. The original buildings were like a time warp. Walking down to the creek, panning for gold, and just listening to the water flow was a perfect afternoon for us. You might not find nuggets of gold and just end up with a flake or two, but it's like being transported back in time to a place you've only heard about in history books and stories.

This was a fantastic little stop. Gold panning was a fun experience but you get a sense of how hard this life was. The historic village was by far the most interesting part and if you have kids, there’s an area near the front for them to play games. Well worth the time and money to see.

If you are looking for a fun and authentic gold mining experience, I recommend Crow Creek Gold Mine. My husband and I visited in July and we had a blast. It was not just a quick and easy panning for gold activity, but a real adventure in the wilderness.

We learned how to use the buckets, shovels, sluice, and gold pans from Kate. She was friendly and knowledgeable. She shared with us about the history of the property. It was like stepping back in time and experiencing the gold rush era.

We spent a couple of hours at the river, digging and panning for gold. It was exciting and relaxing at the same time. The scenery was beautiful and the sound of the water was soothing. We did not find any real gold, but we did find some fools gold, which was still pretty cool.

Crow Creek Gold Mine was a great part our trip to Alaska. It was a unique and memorable experience that we will never forget.

We went to visit Crow Creek Mine and the entire experience was absolutely amazing! The staff is super friendly, informative, and helpful, the landscape is breathtaking, and the experience was all around wonderful. This was a super quaint corner, tucked into the valleys of the mountain. Even the drive there was beautiful. Highly HIGHLY recommend to anybody wanting “the Alaskan gold panning” experience.

Took the kids here to have them learn what panning for gold truly entailed. While we found only specs of gold, it was worth the adventure and gave them a better appreciation of what a hard living gold panning was. No guarentee you will find any gold in the creek.

Friendly dog and cat on premise. Cool little museum town to explore, lots of hiking, camping space (no hook-ups). The drive to/from the mine is interesting. The views are great also.

My 10 year old had so much fun here! They give you a small bag of guaranteed pay dirt so you don't leave empty handed. Panning out at the actual river was fruitless, but the kid had fun and it was a beautiful spot so we left happy. Def recommend coming here if you're in the area.

Took off one star because I feel dubious that you can actually find gold down at the river.
