I bought a new chair for $45. The workers are extremely nice, and willing to help, at this location. I really don't like going to Center of Hope, because prices are ridiculous. But, I went with my sister, and happened to see the new chair I bought. They really need advice on how to price their used items, and they would sell quicker.

I don’t know what’s changed in the last year but change it back!! This went from being my favorite thrift store we came to weekly to one we will never return too! Let me start from the beginning…

We moved in September 2023 to Ohio and returned in march to visit and I could not wait to hit up my favorite thrift store! I was shocked to see most of the clothing on the floor was severely understocked. Everywhere else is the store was surprisingly overstocked but it didn’t take me long to figure out why. They have a mixer that sells brand new at Walmart for 9.88 for $15 here! They have raised the prices on everything sky high!! A older model used tv for $300 Like Walmart has brand new 55” tvs now for less than $250. I did buy a playpen that the price was fair on ($25) however it was nasty dirty and crumbs fell out as we packed it up! That would have never been put on the floor a year ago until it was cleaned. Then we found a bin that had little hanging decor for your wall. Bin said .50 cents each. So we found one we could use. When we got to the register it was $4 and they had to call management who had me walk him to where I got it. He sold me the one I had for 50 cents but angerly removed the others from the shelf. It’s sad to see a place I once enjoyed so much go down hill to a place I’ll never return too.

My favorite thrift store but let me help y’all out( yall are supposedly a non profit organization that receives donations which means you get everything free) with that said your prices are becoming a bit ridiculously high. I have so many friends and people I pass by in the store that say they are never coming back and that is a shame considering the countless lives your program has saved. Please remember that you are receiving free donations and reconsider your prices especially with the economic downturn we are having. It’s very hard to even by groceries much less clothe yourself and fill a home! Ty for taking time to read my post and hopefully you will bring your prices back down to help your community!

I purchase books here all the time.
Having to update my rating: the prices are going way up and the quality is not any better. I bought a dress for $7.50 and the 6 staples with the paper tag couldn’t come off without leaving a hole. I took it back. Can’t get money back even if you pay cash but you do get a receipt and it will be applied as credit towards something else.

Everything in here is extremely over priced and it’s actually sad. People can go to an actual store and buy the same thing for the same price. I found a shoe with what looked like dog poop on it and they wanted $15 for it. They want $600 for a used wheel chair that they could have donated to someone who cannot afford one. It’s sad.

The Center of Hope is doing a wonderful work for Christ. They are changing lives through their Discipleship Program. Please help out with household donations whenever possible.
My son was saved & baptized at their church on Bynum Leatherwood Road. I thank God for them. ✝️

Love what they are doing helping folks in the name of God. 1 star deduction because prices are higher than every other thrift store.

I used to love shopping here. BUT you have priced me right out. High prices for freely donated merchandise.
Thrift stores should be a blessing to financially challenged people, and a blessing to the Center of Hope. But that is no longer the case for the financially challenged
