This was an amazing stop for our family from the views to the rangers! First the rangers were so nice and informative. The drive to the top was well paved and clear from ice and snow. Do watch out for deer driving they are everywhere. Some of the trails did have ice and spikes would be advised.
We can not wait to visit again.

What an amazing find! The air was so clean on top, and it is so quiet/serene. The road up has spots of ice right now, and there no guard rail, so be safe. Absolutely beautiful!

A very cool geologic site, with a simple yet informative visitors center. Great trails around the rim, that aren't too long. We saw multiple young kids hiking with their parents. Winds can be strong, but the views from the top are well worth it!!!

My husband & I were driving from Denver, CO to Amarillo, TX and saw this National Park along the way. We were sure glad we stopped. Nice visitor center to check out and a paved road to the top of the volcano. You can walk along the rim which takes about an hour, or you can walk down into the cone which is about 1/2 hr round trip. Excellent views from the top!

It was a very beautiful place, the drive up to the volcano to view and hike was spectacular. If you want to do the hike to the top of the volcano you need to be in pretty good shape because it's kind of strenuous. We hiked part way up and took pictures and it was still worth it. $20 per car fee unless you have your national park pass which gets you in for free. You can take your dog as far as the parking lot but you cannot take your dog on the trail.

Very nice volcanic park. Drive to summit and an easy walk down to caldera. Nice hiking trail along rim tóo. View is spectacular. Wish I was there when they break out the giant telescope for some stargazing. Staff was super friendly.

First day of February and I had the top of the volcano to myself. Road up it gets plowed and is fine for non AWD or 4WD. I recommend taking shoe spikes or hiking poles to help with ice snow on trail around top and down into crater.mime saved me from 1 or 2 slips, though 60% trail is clear and when not you can go off trail to grass rocks for more sturdy walking. Th3 view at the top is great to park in front of and eat a lunch or snack. The movie at Visitor center is good, especially beginning.
