Thank you, Bobcat, for such an amazing experience!

We were on the free 3 hour tour in the morning, and it was incredible. All raptors, four-legged, and landscapes... left us feeling like how could we be this lucky.

The van was so comfortable. They offered us binoculars to use, which really helped the experience as we had lost ours.

The facilities and visitors centre was works class as well. Very engaging and interactive.

The store also curates an outstanding amount of locally crafted gifts and items to celebrate and learn more about your experience.

Thank y'all for this amazing family adventure.

We went for sunrise. A very magical place. The way the park is set up, you drive around a 12 mile loop and can see various habitats and birds right from your car, or you can stop and get out for a closer view from a platform. It's like a bird Safari! We felt transported to another time. Very prehistoric. Good job to everyone over the decades who has taken care of this refuge.

one of my favorite places on earth...

if you have never seen the cranes take off, you really should try to... it is incredibly beautiful...

i try and go every year but it's a 9 hour drive for us, so sometimes I don't make it... glad we did this year... a little late for the cranes this year,unfortunately...

still, as always, had an amazing time... truly, a soul healing place...

& the bear and bobcat pics are not mine - those are winners from this year's photo competition - but all the others are just from my android... absolutely anyone can take great pictures here...

Beautiful wildlife refuge with a nice visitor center. Take a free tour with a naturalist or self drive the two tour loops. Saw javelina, girlies, snow geese, Sandhills cranes, roadrunners, a variety of ducks, and mule deer. They also have areas where you can do walks in the desert or along the lakes when they are full.

Visited 3/19/25. Many ducks but no cranes. Small flock of snow geese. Seems to be between migrations. Saw javalina, coyotes, turkey. Very dry spring, not many visitors. Not many walking trails, mostly a drive through experience.

We stayed in succoro, drove in around 4am. We went to the deck and could hear all the birds buzzing around. Around 5:40am at the start of sunrise all the birds took off at the same time. Birds taking off sounded like a jet.
It was such a magical experience to witness.

I stopped by on my way to ABQ. A friend recommended I check it out in the fall. Right now it's not cold enough, and all the lake fields are dry. I bet it will make more sense once the birds arrive.

Definitely worth the time. We visited just after Thanksgiving this year, and so much to see. We will look forward to a spring/summer visit next time, and spend more time. We’ve just blown past the exit for this Bosque numerous times, and finally made it a priority, and super glad we did!
