Food was pretty good. Definitely better than the Petro food. I had a steak with steamed broccoli and mashed potatoes. The broccoli and potatoes were excellent the steak was cooked medium well but there was little seasoning on it. My wife got their Sunday special. Everything was good but the baked beans. The cheese sticks are home made and were definitely worth the price. Overall it was good and it's nice to eat something other than truck stop food or microwave food. Would come back.

We ordered the hamburger steak it was decent but nothing special, fries were cold. Shrimp poboy, it was large size, but only 6 fried shrimps, just average taste, it was mostly thick bread and toppings. The onion rings were cold. We did not had time to send the foods back because we were traveling . We left this place feeling disappointed after spending $40 (with tip) and still hungry. Overpriced with mediocre foods.

This was our second time to eat at Barney's Roadhouse in Gadsden. We went back for the pimento cheese balls served with red pepper jelly sauce. These are a fantastic appetizer for $11.99. When asked for a second sauce, they provided at no charge.
My husband ordered the oyster & artichoke soup. ($6.99) We were surprised at the large size of the bowl. He said it was as delicious as it sounds.
I had an appetizer of fried green tomatoes as my meal. They had the perfect amount of batter to allow the green tomato flavor to come through. It was served with two sides of ranch ($10.99).
David also chose an appetizer as his meal. Barney's spicy Gulf shrimp.($13.99). He said it was a little over-battered but the shrimp was large & fresh. It was served with a spicy mayo on the side.
Of course, we took food home.
The server was very friendly but they were understaffed without bussers or expediters. I appreciate that the manager on duty filled in as needed. Our server was a little flustered but did her best to take care of us.
This is our go-to when we're in Gadsden so far. Adding two glasses of Behringer (house $6) Cabernet to go with our meal, our total bill was $59.90. Family atmosphere.

The service was great. We had 6 people in our party. Two meals were so-so (patty melt burgers were burnt), rest of meals were good. One person had Greek salad and said it was great. Portions are large. Restaurant was clean looking and comfortable. Bathroom was clean altho could use an update.

This place must be the best kept secret in the area. My wife and I were passing through, and decided to eat here. The menu was full of delicious sounding options, so we tried most of the appetizers lol. Fried green tomatoes, mushrooms, fried pickles and mozzarella sticks, and pimento cheese balls. They were all amazing. Those pimento cheese balls are outstanding. Light and creamy inside. Everything was wonderful, until I got my pork chops, which were overcooked and hard. They took it back, and made it right though. It was an excellent experience

Tons of big truck parking. The nicest people and some of the best food I’ve eaten in a long time. We got the Barney Pasta. They definitely don’t skimp on the food. Our appetizers were plentiful as well.

We dined here 3 times actually. And we really love it. Great atmosphere, great service & great food every time. Hard to decide which meal was the best. But the husband and I was real impressed with the strawberry butter. It was really a great surprise to try.
