Great place, clean place, they took my cat without an appointment which they said they don’t do which is very awesome. The director of the cat area, Sue, watch out for her, she is not a nice lady and should stick with animals because she does not play nice with people. Not understanding at all. The lady I filled out the intake paperwork with was a sweet heart and very understanding. Thank you for taking my cat, but Sue needs to be one of those directors that directs from an office and doesn’t interact with the public.

Incredibly disappointed and frustrated. Visited this shelter and found a dog we wanted to adopt. Returned the following day for meet and greet for our 2 dogs with the pup we were wanting to adopt. Got to the meet and greet and was told bc one of our dogs is still intact they wouldn’t adopt to us even though the pup was male as well. Wish I had known that the day bf when I spent a hour deciding which pup would be a good fit. Could have spent that time plus the other time I wasted looking for an adoptable dog elsewhere. Understand this policy but it’s frustrating. Now instead of a loving and happy home that poor dog will be stuck locked in a cubicle.

I took my class on a field trip to the Animal League. Kim Eisele had a wonderful presentation for my elementary students regarding the facilities and how the students themselves should take care of their pets.

Weather you are looking to expand your family with a new Dog or Cat or are looking for something from the thrift store with gently used items it's definitely worth a trip to Green Valley Animal League.
I adopted a little Dog a few years ago and I don't know how I got on without this bundle of joy. Rocky has enriched our lives each and every day. He's brought us so much love and company he really is a member of our family. The staff there is very devoted to these Animals. The love and care there is second too none. And after you adopt your new bundle of joy take the time to visit the thrift store where donated items are sold for pennies on the dollar. These sales help support the funds needed to run the adoption and care for the dogs and cats including the day to day expenses. There's a set adoption fee that includes all shots and cost for that particular pet no matter how much it cost them. These expenses can be quite high depending on what that particular pets needs are. And don't forget they accept donations at any time if you are able to help offset these costs. And don't forget to donate any of your household goods and good used clean clothing.
So stop by and look around, you'll never know what you might come home with!!!

Called this morning about a dog who was running through traffic on west ajo i took him home a week ago and have made every attempt to find his owners. Informed lady that pacc and humane society were full. Told her my dog and this guy have been in numerous fights, my dogs fault. That i wanted to make sure this one was not hurt. Lady laughed at me on the phone. I said I did not wan't my rescue to kill him and she said that was not fair. She then instructed me to call pacc and humane society after I told her that I already did and they were full. Great way for a person working at an animal rescue to be when someone is distraught about saving a dog....

I Love this place so much, I used to volunteer here for the cats and it was awesome very nice people and others I got an award on my last day, I will totally be coming back I miss the people and the cats there too

Found a puppy about two weeks ago, posted her on facebook/craigslist etc. to find her previous owners. No one reached out. We decided it was time to take her in to a shelter, and Green Valley Animal League was the closest. We live in Sahuarita about 20 minutes away. We go in, talk to the receptionist and she says we have to go to the PACC in tucson to drop her off, 45 minutes away, with the explanation “You have to take the dog to the county”. You are still part of Pima county. Whats the point of having an animal shelter if you wont take strays? What is the point in an “animal rescue” if you wont rescue animals? Do they HAVE to be from green valley? You guys wont take dogs from outside this town? We didn’t want to take her to a kill-shelter, no dog deserves that.
