Had a great time hanging out here with the family. Definitely friendly spot for bringing kids. Food and beers were great. I work for another local brewery out of Staten Island, Kills Boro, and as someone who has been to many breweries, would totally recommend this one.

Love the movie theater vibes with the branding that is throughout the space and all the way down to their can designs.

100% will be back!!

Showed up on a Saturday night, had two different orders mistakenly delivered to us. Our own order - a single rather browned “bar pie” pink pizza - took about 30mins to arrive (only after our neighbors at the bar had both their appetizers and their entrees delivered). As we devoured the rather unimpressive and very dense pizza, we overheard a man behind us saying “I think they need more help…” to which his wife replied “it’s like this every time I come here.”

After the pizza we ordered two waters, a pretzel, and the check so we could just leave as soon as we were full. The $13 pretzel came with some vegan cheese, which was cold and unmistakeable NOT cheese. The mustard was delicious but so hilariously horseradishy that my wife and I couldn’t help but dare each other to eat as much as we could and watch each other tear up. A fun end to an otherwise disappointing culinary experience.

Beers were good! I doubt we’ll be back.

I recently hosted my fiance's 40th birthday party at Alternate Ending. Their private theater room for perfect for this occasion. The Event Manager, Emily, was very helpful and communicative leading up the party. Our sever, Liv, was phenomenal! She was extremely attentive to our guests and made sure everyone had a drink in their hand at all times. Our guests cannot stop raving about the unique event space and how delicious the food was! We were impressed with the amount of food that was served and even had leftovers to take home. I highly recommend Alternate Ending for private events, as well as a night out. It is one of our go-to date night spots and we look forward to being back!

Edit: Good News! AE has not only changed their Happy Hour Menu to better explain what beers and drinks are discounted during those times, but has made it very obvious. THANK YOU! Everything was incredible and the bar staff were awesome as usual.

Also the pizza filled the tray as it has in the past. Back to 5 stars!

Do not recommend anymore. I used to love this place. Service is terrible. Food is smaller than before AND more expensive. Prices of the beer aren't listed. What is covered under happy hour and prices are not anywhere in plain sight.

On my last visit, I ordered a Detroit Pizza. Crust was good. Size is much smaller than before. It was 2 inches smaller than the tray. It used to be the same size. Prices are higher and toppings are ridiculously skimpy now.

Managers do not take complaints seriously. Other food is great but way overpriced. Beer is some of the best in New Jersey. But I'm not going back again. Place is a ripoff.

Like I said. I used to love this place and gladly paid extra for their food and drinks, but it's just too expensive now and the owner/managers don't care.

My husband and I stumbled upon their "Beer and Burger" Wednesday purely by chance.

We both craved burgers, and lucky for us, their Wednesday special was a burger and beer for just $20! They have a wide selection of beers to choose from, and the burgers come in a variety of options, including a vegan patty and a Hawaiian pulled pork option. We went for the pulled pork and the classic cheeseburger. Both were incredibly juicy and cooked exactly how we like them. They came with a mountain of fries.
Did you know this place used to be the Matawan movie theater? They even have a two tables with the original movie theater seats as a fun throwback. They also have a dedicated area for families with young children, complete with a movie screen to keep them entertained and give parents some peace of mind.

And if beer isn't your thing, they also serve wine, cocktails, and non-alcoholic drinks. Parking is super easy too, with a giant lot shared by them and other nearby stores.

Food is delicious. Love love love the hot honey sourdough crust pizza. Beers on tap on stellar. Steve and the brewers there have an incredible passion for what they do and it shows. Kiana and Rebecca, our servers, were super attentive to details and made sure our cups were never empty. 👌🏼👌🏼 Highly recommend for the vibe, the food, and the people.

Lots of great food and beer on the menu. Had a great Hazy IPA. They also have lots of cocktails on the menu and some they can make into mocktails. The staff were very helpful and friendly. They promote lots of events like movie night and trivia which seems like fun. Will be back again!
