I had a very uncomfortable experience, I went into the store and everything was fine until I purchased 3 items and asked the cashier if one of the tops that was already paid for! I can change into because I had a Zara top and it was too short on me and I was uncomfortable. The cashier said yes, the changing room staff said yes and knew that everything was paid for and when I went to walk out the alarm went off. The staff member at the door gave me a nasty look and looked upset. She said I need to see your bag and I responded by saying okay because I didn't care all was paid for but she didn't stop there she made it a store event to pull out all the clothes and lay them out and she found an alarm clipped on a dress and gave it to a staff member that rushed also to the front, you would've thought I was shopping at a luxury store. BUT! She didn't stop there she made sure everyone in the store was aware of the fiasco she and the other staff members had created, she kept looking through my bag till she touched the bottom pulled the receipts to her face, and viewed it. The other staff member approached her wispered if she could give me back the items that I had ALREADY PAID FOR since they took off the tag. At this moment I felt like a target and disrespected.

I was in the Aerie store located at Jersey Shore Premium Outlets (Tinton Falls, New Jersey). Sweaters were signed as 40% off but once we brought one to the register we only received 25% off. After purchasing we asked the employee about this and got shrugged off with her saying it’s “only things directly under the sign” which the sweater in question was. After visiting a couple other stores we decided to return the item, at which point the sign in the store was changed to only 25% off after we were gaslit by the employee working in that area. As loyal AE & Aerie customers, being gaslit and ripped off is not something we appreciate and something we will certainly take into account with our future shopping decisions.

This was disappointing as I had been in the Palm Beach outlet a few weeks earlier and nearly bought out the store. Very very little stock, no selection- mostly crop tops and shorts which I am not wearing- and lackluster appearance. Bummer
