This was honestly one of the worst hotel experiences I've ever had. Check in went fine, though they told us we couldn't store the keys next to our phones or credit cards because they would get wiped (this turned out to be true, all of our friends got locked out of their rooms due to this.) We were a little surprised with how far we had to walk from our car to our room and I'm glad we rented a tiny car or else we would not have been able to get through the road to get back to the rooms because all the trucks parked there were blocking half of the road.

We got into the room and noticed that it was very hot and then saw the sign that you aren't supposed to set the thermostat below 70. In the desert. When I set the temperature, I couldn't be sure whether it was actually set to 70 because it was an analogue slider thermostat that I hadn't seen since the 90's. Over the next three days, I don't think the temperature got below 78ish in the room unless we opened the sliding door to the outside at night.

The next thing we noticed in the welcome brochure was that they don't offer daily turn down service. They'll bring you towels if you call the front desk, but they don't change sheets, they don't empty trashcans, no tidying whatsoever. We did call for extra towels once because there was some goop on one of the towels, which is when we discovered that the room phone didn't work.

General problems with the room: the lights in the bathroom were all different hues, which was disorienting. The (tiny) mini-fridge was iced over and clearly hadn't been thawed in years, and one of the brackets on the door can holder was missing. We had trouble fitting a six pack in there. The headboard on the bed was screwed into the baseboard on the wall and wasn't secured any other way, which made it very unstable. Any twitch on the bed caused the headboard to slam against the wall to the point where I shoved a pillow behind the headboard to stop it from waking us up in our sleep.

All these issues made for a bad experience, but the worst part came on the morning of check out. I had called the front desk the night before (from my cell phone, because the room phone didn't work) to request a late check out. The person at the front desk told me that was fine, and that we could check out before noon for free (normal checkout is 11) and every hour after that for a $25 fee. I said fine, we'll be out by noon. At literally 11:01 the next morning, a maintenance tech barged into our room without knocking, I was just in my underwear, my girlfriend was still in bed. He didn't notice me until I said hello, he apologized and left. Ten minutes later ANOTHER maintenance tech barged in without knocking and noticed me right away, apologized profusely and left.

The front desk then called my girlfriend to see if we were still there and to try to shove us out the door. As I was packing the car the 2nd maintenance guy came up to me and apologized again and said that the front desk had called the room and there was no response so they assumed we had checked out. I said well our room phone doesn't work, and you should still knock before entering a guest room regardless of whether you think someone is in there or not.

I gave two stars because the location is very cool and the restaurant was nice, though expensive. If this place was just a golf course, it would probably be fine, but the hotel itself was horrible.

Might have been a 4 star hotel 20 years ago but falls horribly short in current standards. Room felt more like a sketchy no-name motel in the middle of nowhere than any kind of resort. Don't be fooled by the photos.

AC was analog and rough in the nice fall temps, so loud it woke me up kicking on throughout the night. Bathtub was downright hazardous without the tiny non-slip mat but that contained globs of shampoo/conditioner and wasn't cleaned. Building layout was confusing and long walks between parking and your room, good luck if you're there in bad weather or warmer temps.

Scenery was gorgeous but that's where the delight ends unfortunately.

I didn't stay at the resort. I only played golf. The staff at the course was amazing. Very friendly and welcoming to our entire group. The golf course was one of the most beautiful courses I've played. And was in excellent condition. Thanks to the entire staff for being so gracious.

A late booking but secured a good tee time. Course in great condition with a great layout.|Fairways were well looked after and putting surfaces ran true.|We all played well and the cart lady provided a good range of drinks and nibbles.|The starter took photos for us on the first tee and provided some good chat as well. One of the other really good things was the tee time spacing, it was perfect!

Can tell it used to be great, but the glory days are far behind it. Rooms are dated and have lots of deferred maintenance and a very odd layout. Grounds are dated and tired and in desperate need of re-landscaping. Front desk attendants were nice but bellman was almost hostile when it came to getting bags to rooms , even after tipping up front ! His response was “well I’m not lifting ALL of this by myself!” It was 3 bags ! I even had to load them on the golf cart myself and then unload them and haul them up to the room myself when it was 108!

We stayed for a couple nights and golfed. The golf was awesome. The rooms and food were poor. Ripped curtains with no blinds or black out shades, AC could not keep up, was constantly warm. The shower was only blazing hot, wouldn’t turn down. The window and sliding patio door was cracked and so streaked up you couldn’t see through them. You can’t park near your room, and there’s no offer to drive you on a golf cart either. Come for the golf, stay and eat elsewhere.
