A nice county dump located west of Shafter California, located on Schofield And Lerdo highway. When you pull in you are normally greeted at the scale house by Tiffany. Tiffany does an outstanding job of keeping the trucks rolling through the scales at a rapid pace. She is definitely an asset.

I’ve gone to this one several times and seems lot easier than ones outside or considered as part of Bakersfield. I wasn’t sure if it would accept old metal gas tanks but thankfully it was. I think this advice could include those ones as well but avoid going here after rain because if you don’t have 4x4 drive, likely will get stuck although I don’t know if they would be open on rainy days.

Well the staff all are friendly for the most part. Not happy about getting charged to give them scrap metal and appliances. It’s a bit greedy in my opinion. Someone can open up a free scrap metal and appliance drop off in town to save the residents cash, gas and time for not making the drive out here. Charging people to give them something that he they are going to sell.

Charged for non residential recycling when I put everything where it is supposed to go and I stated that I am a resident. Ridiculous. You encourage people to just litter rather than being responsible and go to the dump. Didn’t even tell me she was going to charge me what she did and did not see until I saw my receipt. I’m guessing just because i borrowed a friend’s trailer she assumed I was a company instead of listening to me. Bad attitude from the start. Charge big corporations and not normal people just trying to recycle. You help nobody but the government who doesn’t need our money because the workers certainly don’t get commission.

I live exactly 30 miles from either landfill Shafter-Wasco & Bena, I choose Shafter-Wasco because it’s smaller and I usually don’t have much stuff, mostly Palm leaves. No hassle, always nice employees

I have always had great service at this location! Come to think of it, the Mt. Vernon Ave facility is also great! Kern County is a great place to live, not as great as Pismo or San Luis Obispo, but hey, we have it good.

Easy to dispose/recycle furniture and appliances. There are signs and workers to assist. I was not expecting it to bee easy, but it was.
